“Horse Guard™” and “Mega Dose”

“Horse Guard™” and “Mega Dose” (larger dose of Horse Guard™) are the most potent complete supplements available for horse owners today!

Who Is The Horse Guard™ Family?
Del Johnson, MS, PAS, founded Horse Guard Inc. in 1978 with the introduction of the first over the counter nutritional supplement containing selenium. Since then Horse Guard has led the way in providing improved supplements for horses. Horse Guard is a member of the Equine Nutrition and Physiology Society.

A member of the Equine Nutrition and Physiology Society he is certified by the American Registry of Animal Scientists in the field of equine nutrition. Horse Guard is a member of the Equine Nutrition and Physiology Society .

What Does Horse Guard™ Do For Your Horse?
Horse Guard is the most potent complete supplement available. It is formulated to meet requirements in selenium deficient areas. Preventing vitamin and trace mineral deficiencies is important for optimal health and disease resistance.

Horse Guard™ is designed to supplement hay and grain rations.
Fed daily, it will ensure all requirements for vitamins and trace minerals are met. Since horses are typically fed only one or two feedstuffs (hay/ grain), and nutrient levels can vary widely depending on growing, curing and storage conditions, the risk of deficiency is great. Feeding Horse Guard removes that risk. Providing balanced nutrition is extremely important for all horses, but is especially critical during growth and reproduction. Fetal development and foal growth depends on proper levels of vitamins and minerals, for both broodmare and foal. A balance of all nutrients is extremely important. Horse Guard supplement helps meet these increased nutrient requirements.

Palatable corn and wheat form the base of Horse Guard's convenient-to-feed pellets.

Vitamin E and Selenium are mega dosed for those horses that do not respond to average levels of selenium supplementation. Vitamin E is synergistic to selenium making both nutrients more effective. Additional Information
Biotin- a nutrient proven to strengthen hoof structure. A 2 oz. dose of Horse Guard provides 4.5 mg of Biotin, the dose recommended for prevention of hoof problems

NOTE: Most other nutrition products contain little or no biotin. Biotin is by far the most expensive vitamin. Treating pre-existing hoof problems requires a treatment dose of 15-mg/ day, provided in Biotin Concentrate and Mega-Dose. Horse Guard and Super Gain provide 3 mg. per day. The level is safe and meets the elevated requirements of horses under stress of illness, reproduction, competition, or shipping.
