Also Hoof Heal does NOT contain petroleum, pine tar or lanolin. These products not only prevent a hoof from breathing (and can cause excessive softening of the hoof) but they also can be caustic to the sensitive coronet band.

If a product does not allow you to access the coronet band, you are missing out on a very important part of hoof care! Cut Heal can actually improve the health and growth stimulated by the coronet band.

How Do I Use Hoof Heal?
ALWAYS start by giving the can a vigorous shake for about 20-30 seconds! This creates a gentle “heating” action that will increase effectiveness and help to thaw product which may have gotten a little cold in winter weather. Even in summer time, be sure to give the can a vigorous shake for a few seconds to activate all ingredients!

What If I Have An Abscess That I Want To Draw Out?
Drawing an abscess down is always preferable to having one break out the coronet band whenever possible. By using a clean, hoof packing saturated with Hoof Heal, you can actually encourage an abscess to draw out downwardly and thus provide better drainage for the abscesss.

What If I Am Trying To Prevent Thrush?
Hoof Heal was Horse Journals TOP PICK to eliminate Thrush!! Another added benefit is that Hoof Heal gets rid of Thrush with OUT drying the hoof! So many ‘thrush’ remedies dry the hoof out and this is not what you want for the health of your horse’s hooves! In addition through the application of Hoof Heal thrush is in most cases prevented. In summary you can condition the hoof; eliminate thrush and prevent it from coming back all in one product!

What About Shrinkage?
Regular use of Hoof Heal can actually help to  prevent shrinkage by keeping the horse’s hoof at a desirable moisture balance that does not compromise hoof strength.

How Long Does Protection Last?
Most horses enjoy protection from 3-5 days! This is because Hoof Heal penetrates all the way through the hoof wall to create sustained protection- but does not compromise the hoof’s ability to breathe and remain viable!

How Should I Start?
We recommend you use Hoof Heal 3 times per week for 2 weeks—and then as needed. Hoof Heal is safe enough to use every day—but it would be a waste of product.
