Quality Reins by ThinLine Global ThinLine has done what rubber reins have always tried to do, only better, from the moment you pick them up through the next several years, these reins will always feel the same.
About Our Company ThinLine Global. became famous for our revolutionary saddle pads made from a superior shock absorbing open cell foam. Elaine Lockhead, President of ThinLine ran a large riding program in North Carolina and competed through Intermediaire I. It was while she was riding Lipizzaners that she inadvertently discovered ThinLine. She remembers, I was riding these wonderful baroque horses, but was having a horrible time with saddle slippage and had resorted to using fore girths and cruppers, which the horses hated. I was riding at a barn where I came across an old piece of ThinLine so I tried it. Voila! No more saddle slippage. What first attracted Elaine to the product turned out to be just one of the benefits. As I continued to use the product I noticed how much better my horse was going and how much it easier it was to sit the trot. At 3/16th of an inch it is unbelievable what this pad can do for you as a rider!
ThinLine Reins ThinLine reins are a nylon base for strength yet flexibility, with ThinLine wrapped around for grip and consistency. Size 54" rein is considered standard size, a 60” rein is available for larger horses.

Barrel Racing Reins
The ThinLine Competitive Edge Rein features the non-slip grip of ThinLine that will insure that you not always have constant contact, but it also reduces hand-fatigue for long distance rides. This rein will NOT slip in wet/sweaty conditions. Available in Black, Red, Blue, or Green Nylon with Black ThinLine. Rein measures 90" end to end.
How Are ThinLine Reins Different From The Competition?
ThinLine has done what rubber reins have always tired to do, only better, from the moment you pick them up through the next several years, these reins will always feel the same. No breaking in time and no rubber breakdown after just a few months of riding. Finally, it's time to love your reins again!
Why Are Quality Reins So Important?
The most important contact point we have with our horses while riding is our hands. While a good seat and legs are critical to drive the horse’s hind legs up underneath him it is our hands which receive this encouraging force. If our hands, shoulders or arm muscles are tight a horse cannot be soft in the mouth, neck or poll. At ThinLine we are about creating happier horses and riders so we developed a rein which is unparalleled in the industry. What features could actually change all riders from tension to relaxation? Primarily the rein must be soft to hold and completely non-slip even in wet or lathery conditions. Molding to the hand eliminates the need for rein stops as riders can feel when the rein is lengthened. All riders see an immediate softening of grip, arm and shoulder muscles the moment they pick up a ThinLine rein. Jumpers and barrel racers may take a few rides to develop the confidence their rein will never slip again but eventually ride without a death grip on the horses mouth. Once the rider is softer the horses are softer and the performance is beautiful to see.
