About Loddon Engineering 
Loddon Engineering Ltd was founded in 1960 in the village of Loddon, Norfolk, England and has been fabricating top quality horse stalls, American Barns and Kennels globally ever since. In the early 1970s Loddon became the first UK Company to launch a range of internal stalls, with the name ‘Loddon’ becoming a generic term for this type of American stabling. Over 40 years on, Loddon have developed a world renowned reputation, working with a range of prestigious clientele including the Hyde Park Barracks for the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, Godolphin, Hong Kong Jockey Club and the New York Police Department (NYPD).

Loddon’s up-to-date purpose-built manufacturing facility enables all components to be fabricated in-house, maximizing our stringent quality control processes. All of our metalwork is hot dip galvanized in order to provide years of rust free, maintenance free use, with the option of a colored powder-coat finish. The quality of our steel ensures that a powder coat is not necessary, but the use of different colors in powder coating can help to add another element to the design of the barn.

Our stable fronts come with a choice of recycled polyethylene infill, hardwood and bamboo ensuring that the strength of our design prevents the horse from harming their sanctuary and themselves. We also use advanced technology to produce realistic drawings of each project, ensuring that every detail can be checked before the product is manufactured.

In 2010, Loddon joined the Camellia family, a global plc with over 75,000 employees and interests ranging from Engineering, Pharmaceuticals to Tea Plantations and Finance. This provides our client’s with peace of mind in the financial sustainability of our products across the US and internationally.

After successfully supplying this product for several years, Loddon was honored by HRH Queen Elizabeth II with the Royal Warrant for the ‘Supply and Maintenance of Equestrian Equipment’. Loddon has successfully supplied such prestigious customers as the the Hyde Park Barracks for the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, Godolphin, Hong Kong Jockey Club and the New York Police Department (NYPD). Loddon is currently sponsoring international flat jockey, Darryll Holland.

With over 40 years of experience, our selection of European stalls have been refined to ensure all components maintain the highest standards of durability, quality and safety for both the horse and handler. Using tried and tested, sustainable materials including hardwood, bamboo and recycled polyethylene, our stalls are beautifully designed to withstand the strength of a horse, ensuring their safety is not compromised. 

Ascot
The basic and most enduring of the range is the Ascot with safely spaced vertical bars and easily operable door catches. This range can be easily customized to suit swing or slide doors, yoke infills and hayracks.

Windsor
The Windsor custom stall has a swooping front, creating an airy and spacious atmosphere. The drop down design at the front allows your horse with plenty of room but is more suited to ‘calmer’ horses and ponies.

Supreme
A touch of class with rounded 102mm posts at the entrance which add character and style to the Supreme stall’s appearance.

York
The York horse stall has all the traditional features enhanced with 102mm entrance posts and attractive horizontal front panel boards to create a stylish finish.

Nelson
Similar to the Windsor, this stainless steel horse stall has all the latest features but a classy Victorian look with capped 127 mm round tubing and an attractive drop down design at the front. Horizontal boards on the stall front give this design the ultimate finish.

Wellington
Our most stylish stall design which incorporates a high stall front with curved features. With Brass finials and horizontal boards, this is the perfect design in creating the ‘wow’ factor in your barn.

Lexington
Born in Kentucky, made in England, the Lexington combines American style with the classic Loddon high quality finish to create a product that would shine on either side of the Atlantic. One of the Lexington’s most unique features is the absence of a top support, allowing for a greater clearance and airy feel to the stable. The round, smoothed bars combined with smartly hidden handles and fixtures allows even the most curious horse to investigate the stable without fear of getting into any mischief.

Loddon Can Even Accomodate Out Door and Portable Stalls!
At Loddon we offer a wide range of external boxes with canvas or hard roof. These stalls are demountable to give greater flexibility in use. We also have a range of removable boxes in various sizes for fitting in a barn or outside.  

About Our Portable Stalls
For times when horses need to be housed for a temporary period, the portable horse stall from Loddon is ideal. These are constructed from heavy-duty galvanized steel tube to the top sections and plastic panelling to the bottom sections and doors, strengthening the overall design. They can be easily transported and slotted together for temporary use making them a perfect choice for horses at shows or exhibitions. An optional roofing structure is also available.

Is It True That Loddon Was Selected by Queen Elizabeth For The Royal Stable?
Yes! Loddon was awarded the Royal Warrant for our supply of internal stables to Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in 2010. This is the most direct connection and association to the royals a firm can achieve and signifies the highest standards in excellence, quality, service and innovation.

The history of the Royal Warrant can be traced by to medieval times, when competition for Royal favour was intense and the Monarch had the pick of the country's best tradespeople. By the 15th century, Lord Chamberlain, as head of the Royal Household, formally appointed tradespeople with a Royal Warrant of Appointment - a practice that still continues to this day.

As continuing members of the Royal Warrant Holders Association, Loddon adhere to the highest standards of quality throughout each phase from the initial planning stages to installation, signifying our dedication to exceptional standards of customer service.

Is It True That Loddon Offers Round Pens Of Superior Quality- Like Their Stalls?  
Loddon's movable horse pen is an asset to any barn. As a safe manage for lunging it is invaluable - there are no sharp or protruding pieces and its construction makes it impossible to knock any section over. The panelling is constructed using weld mesh which is safe for all horses and foals and the sections are 2m long and 2.1m high for ease of handling. Additionally, we provide a 250mm bottom kick plate to allow for any footing to remain within the pen.

Is Loddon Easy To Work With? 
At Loddon, we understand that every horse is different and undertake a number of steps to ensure that we understand all your needs and requirements in creating the perfect sanctuary for your horse. Our Sales Manager will meet with you personally on site to discuss your requirements including the design and number of stalls. We will also discuss the personality of your horse as this plays a significant role in the final choice of stall design. Every stall is manufactured depending on your individual requirements so in most cases, we will work closely with the architect, builder or contractor to go through the technical details and measurements of your site so that the process is as smooth as possible for both you and your horse.

Our agents are happy to organize visits to Loddon installations, some that have been completed recently and other that have been completed over 20 years ago. It is important for our client’s to understand that the style and quality of our stalls last for a number of decades as a lifetime investment - some of our stalls are still in use that were installed over 40 years ago! What is the Shipping Process?
We understand that the purchase of stalls is a significant investment and that many of our clients may be wary about purchasing from international suppliers. Loddon have been exporting internationally for over 40 years and make every effort to ensure that this process is as quick and smooth as possible for our clients.

Our products are shipped in sealed containers that are not opened until they arrive at the installation on site. This minimizes damage to the materials as the stalls are not moved and offloaded multiple times onto flights and trucks. The sealed containers also ensure that the materials do not get weathered on the journey.

With the exception of filling out a quick form, you will be none the wiser that this product travels internationally to your doorstep. Loddon will organize and manage all the customs and import details – all you have to do is wait for it to arrive!
