I  have a 24 year old gelding that I have owned since he was 3 months old. His mother was a bad colicker and he colicked on me 3 times when he was younger. Scooter was badly injured on 11/23/10 when he sustained a 280 degree laceration across the back of his right front foot. He cut both digital arteries as well during this injury. He spent a week at the Glenwood Springs Vet Hospital, then was sent home in a cast which he wore for 2 weeks. He has been being bandaged and wrapped since then until present while he continues to heal. This injury took a heavy toll on Scooters physical health as he lost a lot of blood and didn't have much of an appetite and was exhibiting symptoms of gastric ulcers. Due to this he lost and incredible amount of weight and his mental status became very unpredictable as he elicited many mannerisms that he did not before the injury such as smashing into his stall panels, biting and acting just plain wild.
