Firehorse Farms
In every business, you will find that one company that stands above the competition. Firehouse Farms is that company. Only the BEST quality hay and shavings will pass our rigorous standards.

About Firehorse Farms
Firehorse Farms was created to accommodate a void in the hay supply feed chain and hay  delivery business. With the advent of the ‘internet’, selling hay by “word of mouth” or recommendations from you local feed retailer, have given way to information supplied on the web. With a back round of family run farms, to our expertise in the transportation industry, it was a natural development to create a business to fill this void.

Firehorse Farms continues to put the “fire in a horse” with Natual forages and a constant supply year round. It was also unheard of to have sales people call horse stables 1500 miles away to provide them with quality hay— Firehorse Farms actually does that!

About Richard Goulah, Owner
Richard was born and raised in western New York, living in a small town surrounded by family and farms. Richard raised 6 children and managed to 5 out of 6 thru college…. that is why he is still working! Richard loves his work and his clients. He developed a transportation and logistics company to provide service to local farms, help move consumer products to distribution centers and ultimately store shelves. By providing service nationwide, his farm service interest grew. Richard now has hay sales both throughout the USA and many areas in the world. Forages with first class equipment—and good people to get the job done are the keys to his success!

What Sets Firehorse Farms Above The Competition?
The consistent quality of our Forage and Shavings, and our dedication to complete customer satisfaction!  Firehorse Farms offers our services to larger farms and retail stores, quality feed stores, etc. We strive to complete the cycle of providing Premium Forages, along with superior customer service. With an extensive back ground in transportation and logistics, we can help our clients at a moment’s notice. We offer products and service world wide! We know how to get it done. Most of our hay sales are from producer to end user. Firehouse Farms has become the sales arm of many prestigious Forage producers, nationwide. We when we make a sales call, we are equipped to bring you the BEST Forage and Bagged shavings available… at a fair market price.

How Do I Know Which Forage Is Best For My Horse?
From our experience, the best forages grown are normally produced in the Northern States. North East, Mid West, and the North West produce the Best TIMOTHY grass hays in the world! These are typically considered the best forages for horses.  Alfalfa, very high in protein, is generally consumed by the Beef cattle and Dairy farms through out the USA. Cool weather Timothy grass mixes produce the fundamental nutrients for a healthy horse.

We inspect select farms in the North East to provide premium Timothy Mixes, along with less expensive transportation costs. A premium mixed grass hay will provide you with a stable, stress-free horse.

Note: The Cheapest hay is often not the cheapest! Many horse won’t eat it, and those that do may suffer with digestive issues, colic or worse— leaving you with high veterinary bills that could have been avoided with a quality hay! Saving a dollar on a cheaper bale of hay, and then paying thousands in vet bills— is not the way to save your hard earned dollars!

Is It True That Firehorse Farms Has Peanut Hay? What Does Peanut Hay Have For My Horse?
Peanut Hay is a NEW product that we started selling a few years back. Not your traditional horse hay for sure. Peanut Hay is only produced in Northern Florida and central Georgia. It is a warm weather plant. Planted by sprigs and takes at least 2 years to harvest. They hybrid plant is high protein, yet not having the calories of Alfalfa Hays. This is not a baled peanut producing plant. Horses eat every stem and leaf from peanut hay. Horses love it!

What Kinds of Bedding Is Available Through Firehorse Farms?
Firehorse Farms  is committed to quality both in our forage and bedding.
We have 2 options available:

*  Firehorse Farms entered the Pine Shavings market at the request of our clients who learned to trust us because of the consistency of our hay. Because of the consistency of their quality, we have chosen to work with Double Tree wood shavings company. The bags are 12 cubic feet and are a combination of fine, medium and large flakes to provide fluff and cushion along with the fine flakes to add in daily clean up. These premium shavings are always available at the best possible price.

 *  Golden Wheat Straw. We supply truck loads of wheat straw, during foaling season. It provides a cushioned bedding and absorbent during foaling season during birthing sessions. Before pine shavings became popular, wheat and oat straw were the horse breeders choice for stalls and race tracks. We still provide this product
