When Can The horseRAP® Cold Therapy Wraps Help My Horse?
This is an important question and we are happy to help you…

*  It is sound principle that cold therapy and compression after a workout can decrease pain and swelling in the tendons, joints and ligaments, preventing injury or treating bowed tendons, splints, or wind puffs.

*  Acute inflammation is a natural response that occurs in animals and humans for a short period of time after muscles or tendons have been injured. Signs of inflammatory response are an increase in circulation, swelling, warmth, and pain. If this response is not treated properly, the body is capable of over reacting and causing additional injuries.

* A horse’s digital tendons are very large, and strong tendons in the legs transmit the massive forces from the muscles. Repeated micro injuries of these tendons can lead to lameness and chronic loss of function.

So What Is The Difference Between “ICE” Therapy— and “COLD” Therapy?
Great question! It is important to understand the difference between ice therapy and cold therapy. Ice can damage the tissues by freezing them or shutting down the circulation. Cold therapy decreases inflammation and swelling. In the case of a traumatic injury or a surgery, cold compression will decrease bleeding.

So horseRAP® Cold Therapy Wraps Offer a SAFER Option Than ICE!

YES! The horseRAP® Cold Therapy Wraps provides cold compression (cryotherapy) without the problems of the ice or frozen gel products.

Were These Wraps Really Designed By An Orthopedic Surgeon?
Oh Yes. Our full line of wraps were designed and developed by an Orthopedic surgeon. These equine wraps are basically a spin-off of Dr. Carn’s expertise in Orthopedics and his Orthopedic products of SunMedica®.

How Do horseRAP® Cold Therapy Wraps Work?
horseRAP® Cold Therapy Wraps cool the superficial and deep digital flexor tendons after a exercise session or performance. When using horseRAP® products, we recommend your horse is tied securely and is not left unattended.

* Accessible pocket to hold our duoPAK®, convenient by not having to freeze the whole boot.
* Stretchy adjustable compression wrap.
* Front opening allows for air cooling.
* Adjustable Velcro straps for best fit.

Is duoPAK®  is Safer, Highly Effective, Re-usable, and Conforming To The Shape of The Leg?
Absolutely! Our Equine duoPAK® is one of a kind! Uniquely made from a patented powder, phase-change material that provides cold therapy treatment that isn’t as extreme as ice or frozen gels. It provides regulated cold therapy over a period of 60 to 90 minutes without damaging the skin or nerves.

* Stays powdery even when frozen, allows conformity to the shape of the leg.
* Non-toxic, environmentally friendly.
* Re-usable, simply place back in freezer.
* Does not evaporate/sweat & is not affected by heat or humidity.
* Appropriate temperature range of 50-75 F, without doing damage by freezing the skin—which can occur in ice or gel products.
* Same duoPAK® can be heated for heat treatments when necessary. Heat warms the joints or tendons, and promotes circulation, plus decreases the pain in chronic or old injuries.
