Trailer Boss, Inc is a company dedicated to manufacturing the best horse trailer accessories that the horseman can buy - a quality product at an affordable price. Our company actually got started as a spin-off of the tools that I needed, but could not find on the market.
How Did the Trailer Hitch Boss Come About?
We had just bought a new truck and gooseneck trailer, so I did not want to climb over the truck
and scratch it and because of some old knee injuries from high school football "years ago", and bulldogging and softball baseball and old age it was just outright painful to crawl up in the bed of
the truck to unhook the gooseneck hitch.
One day, while trying to unhook without getting on my knees, I had my foot on the bumper,
slipped off, hurting my knee so that I had to lay on my stomach to unhook - not an easy feat either! So, being unable to find anything to aid me with that task, I started bending steel to act as
an extension of my arm, and came up with a tool that is now named the "Hitchboss".
My friends saw my tool and how easy it was to unhook the gooseneck hitch standing up outside
of my truck, that they all wanted one, and urged me to take this tool to the public. So, four years ago, we started Trailer Boss, Inc. We went to trade shows, horse fairs, and horse shows, and
really anywhere we could to get our product seen. From our own experience, we noticed that folks were paying a high price for accessories that were not well made.
Screens for the Trailer Windows to Protect the Horses Was the Next Step!
One thing again led to another, we started listening to the "horse folks" and what they wanted,
needed, and couldn't find, and one by one, we added our accessories. We found that many people were requesting SCREENS for their trailer windows to help protect their horses. In the
beginning, we tried to fill this need by buying window screens wholesale and reselling, but found that generally, people had special requests and sizes, therefore, custom sewing became a necessity.
Our screens are made of vinyl-coated nylon mesh, extremely strong, and reinforced with nylon webbing. Our flat screens are offered with both with a zipper for easy access to your horse, or
without zippers. One of our dealers came to us with the idea of having a screen that would slide over the bars, which we had already had "on the drawing board", and, thus, the design for our
"Sundowner Slip Over Screens" came about.

People are spending more and more on nice horses, and pulling them with nice trucks and trailers, and are more aware how many functions the windows screens accomplish - not only to keep the horses head in, but to shield from inclement weather, debris coming in the window, and the fact that they provide shade for the horse and helping them stay cooler. We sell a lot of screens without zippers for the rear windows for that very reason.
Customize Your Spare Tire Cover and Protect the Tire at the Same Time!
Screens have also served our customers who are dealers well as a great advertising tool, and our dealer customers also launched our spare tires covers, which are one of our biggest sellers. Since we have the capabilities to screen print, once we saw how popular they are, we branched out again and began putting events and specialized logos like your farm name, etc. Sun and weather can damage or destroy your tire. Tires that were no longer usable as spare tires due to weather exposure are a real problem. We solved that problem and made it fun for people at the same time by printing on farm advertisements, logos, or horse prints. It was an effective, low cost, and fun way to protect those spare tires and do some advertising for horse owners at the same time!
Now We Carry High Quality Feed Bags That Won't Come Apart!
Ever paid $10 for a "low cost" hay bag only to have it come apart the first time your horse used it ? That has happened to many horse owners. A flimsy hay bag is not just a waste of money -it is down right dangerous! Our hay bags offer real quality and are built to withstand hungry horses!
You see, after we had been in business a year or so and people began becoming familiar with us, the horse folks started telling us what they needed, and now our line of accessories has grown into providing durable and well-made, corner feed bags, hay bags, ice bags (hang ice up in your trailer to cool your horse in the summer, but that is another article!), handy bags, awning lights, and many more items… and, oh yeah, our flags.
We Make Great Horse Flags too!
Again, we hung our American Flag off the nose of our horse trailer, and tried to find horse flags, but nowhere could you find then, so we started making them and are adding more and more designs. Horse owners just love them and we love seeing them at horse shows, trade shows, and everywhere folks park their horse trailers. It is a little extra attention to your stable or horse, and a great way to get some extra attention!
Don't Forget Our New "Line-Up" Tool to Help You Line Up Your Gooseneck to your Truck!
But, our line-up tool is our newest addition. It has been on the drawing board for about three years, and we put it on the market about a year ago, and it is a great seller. It is made of cast urethane, will work on any rig, and is designed to be able to see and line up to your gooseneck with the double cab/tool box trucks whose very design makes it impossible to see to hook up! Your "Line Up Tool" is designed to be put onto and taken off of the ball with the Hitch Boss, and you do not even have to get in and out of the truck bed to use it!
We guarantee our products and will go to extremes to satisfy our customers. We even guarantee that if you buy the Hitch Boss/Line Up Tool combo and you can't use it and don't like it, we will refund your money - and we have not been asked to refund one yet!!!
