The Arabian Race Horse by Michelle Morgan
With its own long history of racing, the athleticism, speed and beauty of this desert horse made the Arabian the perfect choice.
By Michelle Morgan

Arabian racing in North America was organized about 1959 and has more than quadrupled in size over the past 10 years. Today's Arabian racehorse has many advantages and opportunities. It runs against other purebred Arabians at a growing number of racetracks across the United States and Canada and competes for an ever- increasing amount of purse money. Bettors have enthusiastically welcomed the breed and enjoy the beauty and heritage of the Arabian horse..

Whether you intend to race as a hobby or for a living, racing must be approached in a businesslike manner. The success to Arabian racing is education. Learn as much as you can about the sport. You will need to gather information about the track and the state where you would like to race. An Arabian Jockey Club affiliated racing association is the perfect place to begin. These organizations manage Arabian racing meets within their state and can supply you with specific details about racing in that area. For more information in your area call the Arabian Jockey Club, (303) 450-4714
