So, What Exactly IS EZium Chelated Supplements For Horses?
EZium is a daily equine supplement that provides a unique source of magnesium, chelated for maximum absorption. Magnesium deficiencies can be brought on by stress, adrenaline, and physical exertion. Feeding EZium daily prevents the symptoms of magnesium deficiency that can lead to poor performance such as hyperexcitability, erratic behavior, muscle cramps, and metabolic disorders. Positive results in deficient horses can generally be seen within one to two weeks.



But Why Do I NEED "Magnesium Glycinate"-- Won't Any Form of Magnesium Do?
Many forms of Magnesium simply aren't absorbable by your horse. Our Chelated Magnesium Glycinate in EZium is more bio-available (absorbable) by your horse than such as magnesium oxide, magnsium citrate, or magnesium proteinate... in addition the glycine component itself has mild calming properties, which can be useful for nervous or stressed metabolic horses.

How Can Magnesium Help My Insulin Resistant Horse?
Horses with metabolic issues often have insulin resistance, meaning their cells don’t respond efficiently to insulin. Magnesium has been proven by research to improve insulin sensitivity, support muscle function, and to lower laminitis risk.  Magnesium lowers blood sugar by sensitizing the insulin receptors, resulting in a more normal insulin response.

* Magnesium is a cofactor for enzymes involved in carbohydrate metabolism and insulin signaling. If a horse is low in magnesium, insulin resistance can worsen.


* Supplementing magnesium (especially in a highly absorbable form like glycinate) may help improve the horse’s glucose control and reduce spikes in blood sugar.

* Magnesium supports muscle relaxation and helps reduce stress or tension, which can be high in metabolic horses due to discomfort from laminitis or body soreness

* Magnesium glycinate is known for being gentle on the stomach and more calming than some other forms, which may help a metabolic horse that is also anxious or tense

* Magnesium has a role in reducing inflammation. Low Magnesium concentrations are associated with increased cytokine production and systemic inflammation. Supplemental Magnesium has also been shown to benefit horses impacted by endotoxemia, such as after a colic or bout of laminitis.



Do I Need To Worry About Diarrhea?
No! Because EZium contains a chelated source of Magnesium, the recommended dose does not provide an excess of Magnesium which can interfere with the absorption of other nutrients or cause diarrhea. The quantity of the highly available source of Magnesium provided by feeding two level scoops of EZium per day has been found to be ideal for most horses. But no horse is the same! How Do I Know If My Horse Might Need Magnesium?

"I got Abbey about 2 years ago and she was in some pretty rough condition from a second set of hands that had her after her race career. To this day I never understood what I thought I saw in her at the time, because as you can see, it was rough. My goal was to train Abbey from the ground up to become my next up and coming barrel racing mount.
