McCall Saddle Company is where you need to go if you want a saddle made right!

About Our Company

With over 100 years of combined experience, these are the folks that make it all happen; our McCall Saddle Co. crew. Our workers take great pride in their craftsmanship by doing their part on each saddle as if it were their own. You'll know they've made the very finest saddle possible for you, our valued customer, when you sit in it for the first time. Rest assured you'll get the very best value for your dollar. We pledge to continue doing our finest work for you.

We here at McCall are truly inspired by our western heritage and are pleased to offer to you our line of handcrafted, quality saddles designed and built in the heart of the west with you our valued customer in mind. All McCall saddles have a five year guarantee on the tree. The saddle is warranteed to have no defects in workmanship and the materials for 5 years of normal use.

Our Saddles

We offer a vast collection of saddles depending on your needs and personal taste. Here are a few of our favorite saddles:

  • Northwest Wade- The original Wade tree has become a mainstay of the slick fork trees. Coming from the Oregon cow country it has been copied many times over. Our McCall version is true to the traditional Wade style. Our McCall style bars fit the horse tremendously well. One of our most popular styles. Its easy to see why.

  • 98 Wade- We've had requests for a lower gullet for closer horse contact and a slightly larger cap. We reworked the original Wade to achieve these changes and introduced the revised saddle in early 1998, hence the name, 98 Wade. It has a little different look and function.

  • Lady Wade/Wade Lite- This saddle is one of our own designs and a current bestseller. This design is for the individual looking for an extremely comfortable lighter weight Wade with a specially designed narrower seat. McCall's special in-skirt Hamley plate rigging is designed and shaped like a flat plate and pulls like a flat plate without the bulkiness and weight. It's plenty stout enough to drag calves to the fire or do a full days work without the weight and bulkiness. A real winner no matter how you look at it.

  • Wade Trail- This saddle is a new twist on a great favorite. We've taken our very popular Lite Wade®, and made it lighter yet, but with our same Lady Wade designer bar.

How Do You Create Your Saddles?

We start with handmade, rawhide covered and rawhide laced saddle trees built by our sister company, Timberline Saddle Tree. We know our trees are built right. From the best bar patterns anywhere, designed to fit today's horses, to the last hand sewn and hand rubbed rawhide stitch you can be confident that the saddle's foundation is solid. We, as saddle makers, are proud to build our saddles on Timberline trees. From there we use the finest oak bark tanned skirting leather that molds and holds its shape and tools like butter. We use hardware, some of our own design, that fits your needs and saddle uses. Our skirts are lined with the finest 1" premium wool skin, and our finishes are hand oiled and rubbed. Our pride and craftsmanship is demonstrated in every part of the saddle, and begins with quality materials.

Do You Offer Custom Saddles?
We at McCall are proud to offer many custom options and are pleased to help you develop the saddle you want. As a small company, we are flexible and can build saddles to meet your personal wants and needs. We can customize the weight of your saddle, make the correct rigging choices, and build the seat you want-from a traditional hard seat to custom inlaid cushion. Our skirts are all hand fitted and shaped for you and your horse. Finally, our saddles are assembled and oiled to your specs and desires. Bottom line-we will cater to you and produce your ultimate saddle.

Why Should I Choose A McCall Saddle?

Our McCall saddles today are built using the same time-honored tradition used decades ago. Each saddle is painstakingly fit, shaped and finished with both horse and rider in mind. We have over 100 years combined experience in saddle design, custom fitting of horse and rider, hand tooling and carving, and construction. Our greatest desire is to meet the needs of our customers. McCall's goal is to build the best saddle at the best price possible. Rest assured you receive the most value for your money spent. That's what makes it all worthwhile for us here at McCall-the satisfaction of knowing our customers are pleased with the saddle they buy.
