Our wranglers live at, or near, Zion Ponderosa, but many come to work with us from throughout the western United States. We take pride in the way our wrangler staff take care of our guests, ensuring that they are comfortable with their horse, and contributing to their education about the history, geography, and wildlife of this remarkable part of the country. You’ll love the personalized attention from start to finish. Our clients become our dearest friends. Try us once and you’ll be a client for life.
About Our Incredible Guided Horseback Tours...
All horseback rides at Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort are conducted by East Zion Adventures. Our horses are chosen and trained to match the wide variety of guests that visit the resort. It is important to let your wrangler know about your past riding experience so he can team you up with the best horse possible. Our horses are young enough to enjoy the ride, strong enough to make the climbs, and obedient for safety reasons.
What If I Am A “Beginner” To Horses… Can I Still Ride? The short answer is “yes". Our horses are chosen and trained to meet the needs of a variety of guests. It is important to let your wrangler know about your past riding experience so you can be teamed up with the best horse possible. Our horses are young enough to make the ride enjoyable, strong enough to climb hills, and safely obedient. The 1 HOUR ride is BEST for beginners.
What If I Am An Intermediate or Experienced Rider— which Tour Is Best?
Our 1.5 hour and 2 hour rides will be more of the fit for intermediate and experienced riders. Ask about how we can customize a horseback riding adventure for groups of intermediate or experienced riders. We even have a 1 hour ride if you just wanted a quick ride into beautiful scenery.
What Can I Expect To See On These Guided Tours?
Our rides venture over the rolling forested hills of the upper east Zion National Park plateau, with opportunities for scenic views into nearby canyons of Zion National Park, or for distant views that reach out to the state of Arizona, and include the Kaibab Plateau which is the home of the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Wildlife such as rabbits, wild turkeys, and mule deer are some of the animals that are commonly seen along these rides.
Are There Any Rides For The Kids?
Yes! Children under eight years old are too young for the regular horserides but they will love our horseback rides that are led by hand with our wranglers— and are very safe! Each kids horseback ride lasts about 10 minutes and is sure to put a smile on their face and help to instill a love of horses that can last a lifetime.
What If I Prefer A “Wagon Ride”? Wagon Rides are available for those who would rather enjoy this type of guided western experience. These rides can be separate from our Dutch Oven Dinner experience— or you can opt to enjoy the whole experience with dinner included! Our Wagon Rides can can be enjoyed by children and adults. Call for details on availability and minimum number of participants and we’ll do all we can to accommodate you and make it a wonderful experience for all!
