Trust & Transparency
Editorial Policy
InfoHorse.com has helped horse owners make informed decisions since 1997. This page explains how our content is created and reviewed, who stands behind it, and how we keep our educational content honest and separate from advertising.
Human curation since 1997
InfoHorse.com is a family-run directory. It was founded in 1997 by Ann and Bob Pruitt and is still curated by hand today. Ann Pruitt serves as our editorial curator: a horsewoman with more than 40 years of experience who personally reviews advertisers and content before they appear on the site. Bob Pruitt co-founded InfoHorse.com and oversees site operations. Our content is not generated and posted automatically — real people who know horses decide what belongs here.
How content is created and reviewed
Our editorial articles — care guides, how-to advice, and educational features — are curated by the InfoHorse editorial team and overseen by Ann Pruitt. Articles are written and reviewed by experienced horsepeople and checked against industry sources before they are published. We draw on decades of hands-on experience with horses, barns, tack, feed, and equine services, and we work directly with manufacturers and professionals to get the details right.
Accuracy and corrections
We work hard to keep our information accurate and current, but the horse industry changes and mistakes can happen. If you spot something that is out of date or incorrect — a changed phone number, a discontinued product, or a factual error in an article — please tell us. We review every report and correct verified errors promptly. Accuracy matters more to us than being first, and we would rather fix something than leave it wrong.
Where editorial ends and advertising begins
InfoHorse.com is a paid directory, and advertisers pay to be listed. We keep a clear line between our editorial content and our advertising. Editorial articles reflect the judgment of the InfoHorse team. Advertiser listings present information supplied by the advertiser, including their own product descriptions and claims. When an article is connected to a sponsor, that relationship is identified. A paid placement is never presented as an independent editorial recommendation.
For a full explanation of how our directory is funded and how featured placements work, see our Advertiser Disclosure. For health-related content, please review our Health Disclaimer.
