Just like all other HayBoss Feeders, the Junioris made of galvanized steel for maximum durability. The height of the floor can be adjusted to 12” or 29” from the ground. The netting is always kept taut at all times with spring loaded rollers. This also enables the feeder to be put on a fence line to feed two paddocks at once. These HayRings have been designed with the knowledge that they will be put to the test of rough animals, harsh weather, and overall wear and tear.  Our "Adjustable Heights" Offer a Real Solution!
The HayBoss™ feeder was intentionally designed with 2 adjustable heights to 
address any pawing concerns. A small percentage of horses getting used to 
net feeding may paw in frustration (this could result in a hole in the
 netting). If you feel one of your animals is doing this, you may want to 
adjust the feeder’s height to the top setting. Once the horses are 
comfortable with the feeder and you can see they have adjusted, feel free 
to change to your desired height.

Note: If you have a standard feeder and feeding round bales, we also have the optional Paw Bar Kit that can be attached to the feeder.

I have recently purchased the Junior Hay Boss Feeder, and it is one of the
best investments I have made for my horses. In the past we had tried using
 slow feeding nets, but my horses often tossed them over the fence to the
 neighbour’s horses and many of my nets went missing completely. They also
 ripped holes in the nets usually within a couple of months of purchasing
 the nets, defeating the purpose of slow feeding. We find that with the Hay

What exactly is a HayBoss Feeder™?

HayBoss Feeders™ builds a patented, multi-species forage feeding system that keeps hay raised, sheltered, and off the ground. A platform-and-roof structure holds the bale up out of the mud and weather, while two retractable, self-locking nets cradle the feed and keep animals from yanking out and trampling large chunks. The result is a "Clean and Controlled Feeding System" that turns daily feeding into a tidy, low-waste routine instead of a muddy, wasteful chore.

Who builds HayBoss Feeders™?

HayBoss Feeders™ is a family-owned company based in Edmonton, Alberta, with manufacturing facilities in both Canada and the United States. The idea was born when founder Len Jubinville was doing daily chores and thought, "there's got to be a better way to feed hay, stop all the waste and save labor!" In 2012 his son Delton Jubinville set out to perfect the forage feeding system he believed in whole-heartedly, and partner Clayton Jubinville joined to help grow the business into one of North America's premiere net-feeder manufacturers.

How the net-and-roof design controls waste

Each feeder lifts the bale onto a sheltered platform so it stays dry and clean in wind, rain, or snow, and the self-locking netting slows intake while holding the bale firmly in place. Owners choose netting with two-inch or inch-and-a-half holes, plus one-inch inserts for the slowest feed rate; smaller holes simply make animals work a little harder, extending forage time and mimicking natural grazing. Less hay hits the ground, so less gets soiled, wasted, and trampled underfoot.

Which animals and barns it fits

The HayBoss™ system is genuinely multi-species: it serves horses, cattle, sheep, and goats, along with exotics such as llamas, alpacas, and deer. The lineup scales from the compact PenPal Premium Feeder for a single small square bale up to Big Round and Big Square Premium models for large round and large square bales, so a backyard horse owner and a working cattle operation can both find the right fit. Ring feeder versions and DIY barrel kits round out the range for nearly any pen, paddock, or pasture.
