We have seen it so many times. You buy the perfect horse property, with lovely home, pool, beautiful fencing and arenas— but the barn needs a little help! This is a fairly common situation, and we work with clients all the time to bring their barns up to the beauty and strength needed for a good barn.

Why Should I Work With Sterling For My Barn Doors?

Poorly made doors simply do not last, and can even be dangerous for horses and their owners. We designed and bend our frames in house. They are heavy frames with stops that encompass the entirety, which also allows for weather stripping to reduce moisture intake. The hinges are adjustable and serviceable, allowing for perfect swings and grease to be applied if they do ever get sticky.

Each door or window panel is framed in structural steel tubing, so they are built to last as long as the barn. Our joke is that our doors and windows will hold up the barn. All of this is great, but you will also get the same beauty and perfect finishes on these that you would on our stalls. The same care goes into all.

What About Barn End Doors?

We have what you are looking for! Our Barn End Doors are high strength steel, framed and fully customizable. We offer sliding or hinged operation, with all necessary hardware to keep the door safe, including holdbacks for hinged doors and heavy duty steel guides/stops for sliding. We offer zinc primer options if these doors will face high humidity, and also offer the self-cleaning track system for consistent, smooth operation.

Are the Windows/ Doors Easy To Install?

As in the above note, due to our doors/window being fully assembled and pre-hung, they are very install friendly. We also ensure that the hinged panels are perfectly square within out door frame prior to shipment. If adjustment is needed on site, that is not an obstacle either, as we use adjustable hinges.

What Do I Need Before I Call To Order?

Well, there has to be a hole to put the door or window in, as we do not do that part. As with any door or window, a solid frame with header boards are needed. That being said, our door/window frames are pre-hung and can slide into the framed hole from the exterior of the barn. They are as easy to install as sliding them in place and attached to your frame via screws. You get us the measurements and we’ll guide you through the rest!
