How Can My Horses Better Maintain Better Balance When Traveling In a Balanced Ride Rear Facing Trailer?
We know that our horses naturally carry more of their weight on the front end. I was always told about 60% to the front end. Standing relaxed, the horse has a lowered head and neck position and is "leaning" on the front end. ( Notice how the horse rests with a hind leg cocked, notice your horses grazing posture ) Now think of picking up a horses front foot, rather than the natural forward leaning relaxed posture the horse must shift its weight to the hind end to remain standing or balanced, many times the horse will have to spread its hind legs and raise its head and neck to remain standing. This rear weighted posture is not natural and can be uncomfortable for the horse. When trailering facing forward, under normal braking or slowing down, the horse must shift its weight to its hind quarters, spreading its legs unnaturally to avoid being pushed forward. Countless horses adapt and travel facing forward, but how many times have you noticed horses that "sit" on butt bars, scramble leaving marks on trailer side walls? Balanced Ride Trailers allow the horse to be trailered in its most natural, least physically stressful posture.
What Are The Benefits Of A Balanced Ride Trailer?
