SleekEZ Grooming Tools are one of the most highly effective and affordable tools for removing loose hair, dirt and dander without stress or discomfort to horses, dogs and cats.

About Our Company

SleekEZ® was formed by long-time, advanced equine dentist Jennifer Tipton. Jennifer travels throughout the United States making horses happy, and always enjoys a pretty horse! She is a horse, kitty and dog owner, and lives in Montana where the winters are long and springs are, well, hairy. But, no matter what part of the world you are in, animals shed year round.

Different prototypes were made and many were tossed mostly due to shoddy presentation and uncomfortable grips. Finally, after many handmade prototypes, she went with this present one as it is most comfortable in the hand. Patent was filed and is presently pending.

In fact, that is the second most common type of remark from users of SleekEZ®: "It is very well constructed and fits nicely in the hand." Truly, the grip does allow the user to use two hands and really work without discomfort to the animal. In fact, horses and dogs seem to really enjoy it whereas they don't like other brushes.
Following are what SleekEZ® presently carries, however more items are on the way...

What Do Customers Say About SleekEZ® Grooming Tools?

I just purchased one of these and it arrived yesterday! I was really happy with its performance on the yak mare (I Really should have done that third clip ...). I can see this little gizmo saving me a good bit of grooming time and definitely saving money on the slicker blocks. Ivy, my thin-skinned (and naturally non-hairy) TB cross didn't object to me applying the shedder to her. She doesn't really need it, but it did help pull up some scurf on her bum where she had had a good roll in her favorite sandy wallow.- coloredhorse, online forum

My dogs don't like to be brushed. I think it is the teeth of the brush scraping against the skin. They tolerate the SleekEZ, though. And, it really works well. - S. Kirk, Agua Dulce, CA (owner of fine labrador retrievers)

I really like how the handle fits in the hand. I can get a good grip. It's easy to use and works amazingly well.
M. Richarz, CA

This product is freaking awesome!!! I cannot believe how much hair comes out!!! My donkey takes the longest to shed out, and she looks sleek now because of this!!!"- Stacey "Myhorserocks Huska.

I can't tell you how great this works on all my horses and now I use it on my saddle pads to remove caked-on hair. Really helps to preserve the pad-- just see my testimonial video below! - Bob Pruitt- CEO Infohorse

What exactly is The ORIGINAL by SleekEZ®?

The ORIGINAL by SleekEZ® is a single-blade deshedding and grooming tool built around an oval poplar-wood handle that rolls naturally in the palm. Instead of long tines, it carries a short, patented wave-form blade whose tiny teeth grab the tips of the coat rather than digging at the skin. As you stroke, loose hair, dirt and dander simply fall away in piles on the ground, and the hair never packs into the tool the way it does in a shedding blade or slicker brush. It is sold in four widths so a barn, kennel and house can all be covered with one design.

Who created SleekEZ and where is it made?

SleekEZ was invented by Jennifer Tipton, a long-time advanced equine dentist who spent years with her hands on horses. Working around the poll and watching how herd animals scratch, lick and mutually groom one another, she designed a tool that mimics that pleasing, natural motion. The company was founded in 2014 in Montana and the tools are proudly manufactured in the U.S.A. The brand has since been named to the Inc. 500 list of fastest-growing private companies and is a woman-owned business.

What is the tool made of?

The handle is shaped from poplar wood and waterproofed with a "green," water-based lacquer so it holds up in the barn and the wash rack. The working edge is a wave-shaped metal blade with a unique, exclusive tooth pattern protected under U.S. Pat. Nos. 9,474,250 and D817,560. That wave geometry is what lets the same family of tools work across coat types, from fine cat hair to coarse winter horse coats, fine to coarse and long to short.

How does SleekEZ actually work on a coat?

The short, wavy teeth catch the loose, dead hair at the tips and lift it out while leaving the healthy coat and skin undisturbed, which is why animals tend to lean into it like a good scratch. Owners report it removes roughly 95% of shedding hair without tugging, pulling, restraint or stress, and it pulls dust and dander up at the same time. To be clear about its lane, SleekEZ states it is NOT for detangling or removing mats, and it does not clip or shave the hair.

Which size is right for your animals?

SleekEZ offers four ORIGINAL widths: the Small (2.5") for cats, rabbits and ferrets under 20 lbs at $17.97; the Medium (5") for dogs, medium pets and ponies in the 20–800 lb range at $19.97; and the Large (10"), built for two-handed use on horses and cattle 800 lbs and up at $21.97. A Combo Pack bundles the lineup for $49.00 (reduced from $53.00), and the newer Professional by SleekEZ® runs $24.99. The 10" is the workhorse for full-size horses, letting you cover a barrel or hindquarter quickly during a heavy seasonal shed.

How do you order, and what about shipping and returns?

Who invented the SleekEZ grooming tool?
SleekEZ was created by Jennifer Tipton, a long-time advanced equine dentist. Working closely around horses' heads and polls, she observed how herd animals scratch, lick and mutually groom one another, then designed a tool that recreates that natural, pleasing motion. The company she founded in 2014 in Montana grew into an Inc. 500 fastest-growing private company and remains woman-owned and made in the U.S.A.
What is The ORIGINAL by SleekEZ made of?
The handle is shaped from poplar wood and sealed with a water-based, 'green' lacquer so it stands up to barn use and washing. The grooming edge is a metal blade with a patented wave-tooth pattern. That two-part construction is intentionally simple, durable, and free of long tines that could scratch or irritate the skin.
What sizes does the ORIGINAL SleekEZ come in, and what are the prices?
There are four ORIGINAL widths plus a Professional model. The Small (2.5") is $17.97, the Medium (5") is $19.97, and the Large (10") is $21.97. A Combo Pack of all three is $49.00 (reduced from $53.00), and the newer PROFESSIONAL by SleekEZ® is $24.99.
Which SleekEZ size should I use on a full-size horse?
The Large 10" ORIGINAL is built specifically for horses and cattle 800 lbs and up. Its wide blade is designed for two-handed use so you can cover a horse's barrel, neck and hindquarters quickly during a heavy seasonal shed. The Medium 5" suits ponies and is also fine for spot work.
How does SleekEZ work differently from a shedding blade or slicker brush?
SleekEZ's short, wavy teeth grab the tips of the loose, dead hair rather than digging down to the skin like long tines do. Because of that, loose hair simply falls to the ground in piles instead of packing into the tool, so you're not constantly stopping to clear it. Owners describe it as a 'pleasing scratch' that animals lean into rather than pull away from.
Does SleekEZ hurt or scratch the animal's skin?
No. The design uses tiny, short teeth on a wave-form blade specifically so it lifts dead hair without irritating the skin. The shape was modeled on how animals naturally scratch and groom themselves, which is why many horses, dogs and cats relax into the grooming session and actively ask for more.
Can I use SleekEZ to remove mats or detangle a coat?
No. SleekEZ explicitly states the tool is NOT for detangling or removing mats. It is a deshedding and grooming tool for lifting loose hair, dirt and dander, not a dematting comb. It also does not clip or shave the hair.
How much shedding hair does SleekEZ actually remove?
In hands-on use, owners commonly report it removes around 95% of the loose, shedding hair without tugging or pulling. It pulls dust and dander up along with the hair. Results are strongest on short to medium coats; very thick, long coats such as a Husky's may take more passes.
Is SleekEZ safe and comfortable for nervous or hard-to-groom animals?
Yes. Because the tool feels like a scratch rather than a scrape, animals typically do not need to be restrained during grooming. Many dogs and horses come to enjoy the sessions, which makes it especially useful for animals that fight a traditional shedding blade or curry comb.
What animals can I use SleekEZ on?
SleekEZ is designed for horses, dogs and cats, plus cattle, ponies, rabbits, ferrets and most other animals with hair or fur. The size you choose is matched to the animal's weight: under 20 lbs (cats, rabbits, ferrets), 20–800 lbs (dogs, medium pets, ponies), and 800 lbs and up (horses and cattle).
Is SleekEZ made in the USA?
Yes. SleekEZ is proudly manufactured in the U.S.A. and is a woman-owned business founded in Montana in 2014. Its design is protected under U.S. Pat. Nos. 9,474,250 and D817,560, and it was the first pet grooming product to be awarded its patent.
Is the SleekEZ design patented?
Yes. The unique wave-tooth pattern, configuration and tooth selection are covered by U.S. Pat. Nos. 9,474,250 and D817,560. SleekEZ has noted it received a world-first patent for a pet grooming product of this kind, and the brand is trademarked internationally.
How do I clean and care for the SleekEZ tool?
Because loose hair falls off the blade instead of clogging it, cleanup is minimal during use. The poplar handle is finished with a water-based lacquer that resists moisture, so it holds up to barn conditions. Keep it dry between uses to protect the wood and the blade edge over the long term.
How much does shipping cost and is there free shipping?
SleekEZ ships within the U.S. at a flat rate of $4.99, and orders over $30 ship free. That means a Combo Pack or a couple of tools will typically qualify for free shipping. Tools can also be found through retailers like Tractor Supply Company and on Amazon.
What is SleekEZ's return policy and guarantee?
The brand stands behind the tool with a 'works better GUARANTEED!' promise. Returns are accepted within 15 days of the delivery date shown on USPS tracking for a full refund. Keep your tracking information so the return window can be verified.
How do I contact SleekEZ to order or ask a question?
You can call SleekEZ toll-free at 1-855-SLEEKEZ (1-855-753-3539) or email [email protected]. Orders can be placed directly at sleekez.com, where all four ORIGINAL sizes, the Combo Pack and the PROFESSIONAL model are listed with current pricing.
What is the PROFESSIONAL by SleekEZ and how is it different from the ORIGINAL?
The PROFESSIONAL by SleekEZ® is the brand's newer model, priced at $24.99, aimed at heavier or more frequent grooming use. It carries the same wave-tooth grooming principle as the ORIGINAL line. For most horse, dog and cat owners, the ORIGINAL sizes remain the core lineup, with the Large 10" being the standard choice for full-size horses.
