Is pesky dog hair ruining your furniture and clothes? Now, with FurzOff there is finally a solution for bothersome dog hair!

About Our Company

AMV, LLC was founded in the State of Wisconsin in April 1998. Chris Andersen, inventor and developer of the technology employed in the AMV products, is currently managing the company. AMV manufactures a family of products made from finely ground, recycled glass, which is foamed in the process. Formulated with a binder and a foaming agent, the mixture is extruded, dried, and heated to about 800oC (1475oF). At this temperature the glass particles begin to melt back together into a solid body and the foaming agent is activated, which then fills the glass piece with tiny bubbles. Once cooled, it will float in water.

What Do Our Customers Say About FurzOff?

I run a canine search and rescue team and have search dogs in my vehicle all the time. When I saw how fast and easily the FurzOff cleared the hair out of the back of my Suburban I had to have one.
Erik, Onalaska, WI

I have a weight belt which attaches by Velcro to my ankle so I can do leg lifts. Over the years the Velcro became so clogged full of lint and pet hair it wouldn't remain closed, so the belt kept falling off. I stroked it with my FurzOff, and it cleaned right up in a few minutes and holds tight again.
AL, Glencoe, IL

Dressing for a holiday party I pulled out my full length crushed velvet party dress and found it covered in lint and other dusty closet things. I started trying to clean it with tape but it just wasn’t working. Then I remembered the FurzOff. I found it in the kitchen and took it upstairs. I took one giant sweep down the dress and it was like a snowplow through freshly fallen snow! The dress was ready to wear in a few minutes! WOW! Now I keep my FurzOff on the closet shelf ready at all times.

Thanks for a great product!

What exactly is FurzOff?

FurzOff is a hand-held pet hair remover from AMV, LLC that lifts loose hair out of fabric with a light sweeping motion instead of suction, adhesive or electricity. The tool measures roughly 5" x 3" x 1.5", weighs about 4 oz., and is finished in grey so it slips easily into a glove box, gear bag or junk drawer. Because there are no batteries, no sticky sheets and no plastic parts to wear out, there is quite literally nothing to replace over the life of the tool.

Who makes FurzOff?

FurzOff is manufactured by AMV, LLC, founded in Wisconsin in April 1998 and run by inventor Chris Andersen, the chemical engineer behind the technology used across the AMV product family. The company operates out of La Crosse, Wisconsin and can be reached at (608) 785-0032, by, or by mail at P.O. Box 3124, La Crosse, WI 54602. AMV also produces the companion Groomer's Stone, BurzOff burr remover and Art. Rocks craft stones using the same core material.

The recycled-glass material that makes it work

FurzOff is made from 90% post-consumer recycled materials, specifically foamed recycled glass. Andersen's process grinds recycled beer and wine bottles into a powder, blends in a binding agent, extrudes the mix into oblong plugs, and bakes them at 1,550 degrees F to create the rigid, hair-scaled texture. The result is a porous stone with a micro-fine raking surface that grabs hair by the tips, then releases it with a quick wipe so the tool is ready for the next pass.

How FurzOff pulls hair fabric can't release

Pet hair works its way deep into woven fibers where lint rollers and vacuums simply skim the surface. FurzOff's rigid scaled texture mechanically grabs and pulls embedded hair up and out with a light sweeping motion, gathering it into a removable mat you can lift away by hand. AMV positions it as more effective, more durable and more earth-friendly than rubber tools, sticky rollers or vacuuming, and one stone lasts the average pet owner several years of regular use.

From Barn to Back Seat: Where FurzOff Shines

FurzOff handles clothing, furniture, carpeting, comforters, pillows, blankets, car seats and floors, and pet hair anywhere it clings. The same technology crosses over to the barn: a trade-show request to remove bot-fly eggs from a horse's legs led AMV to market the closely related Groomer's Stone, which lifts shedding hair, mud, bugs, burs, botfly eggs and dander while massaging horses, cats and dogs without harsh teeth touching sensitive skin. It is best on durable woven surfaces such as automotive carpeting, trunk liners, sturdy couches and cat trees, and is not recommended for silk, satin, fine knits, leather, vinyl or plastic.

Pricing and the lifetime guarantee

FurzOff is priced at $16.99 direct from AMV, LLC, and every stone is backed by a 100% unconditional, lifetime guarantee. The hypoallergenic, odor-free tool uses no electricity and has nothing to wear out, so the one-time purchase is the only cost. The Solution Section (FAQ)
What is FurzOff and what does it do?
FurzOff, by AMV, LLC, is designed to remove pet hair from the fabrics of our lives. With its hair-scaled raking action, it removes pet hair faster and more easily than anything else on the market, rolling the hair up into a yarn-like string you can lift off by hand.
What is FurzOff made of, and is it eco-friendly?
FurzOff is made from finely ground, recycled glass that's foamed during manufacturing, so it's good for the environment. It contains no plastic and has no petrochemical content, and because the glass is sterilized there are no pathogens like you'd find in natural rock.
Is FurzOff gentle and safe to use directly on my dog?
Yes. It's lightweight and safe for all ages, actually massages the dog as it cleans, and does not dig into the dog's sensitive skin, leaving the coat soft and sleek. FurzOff is also hypoallergenic and works on all show animals too.
Where can I use FurzOff besides on my pet?
It removes all pet hair from furniture, clothing, car seats and more, and works in both the home and the auto. One customer even used it to clean pet hair and lint out of clogged Velcro so it would hold tight again.
Will FurzOff wear out, and how do I clean it?
It has no electric cord and no replaceable parts, and it will not wear out under normal use — water won't harm it or diminish its function, and it lasts longer than any stripping stone. To clean it, simply rub it on a rough surface or another FurzOff to expose a new layer of pores.

Who makes FurzOff?
FurzOff is manufactured by AMV, LLC, a company founded in Wisconsin in April 1998. Chris Andersen, the inventor and developer of the technology used in AMV's products, manages the company. AMV makes a family of recycled-glass products including FurzOff, the Groomer's Stone, the BurzOff burr remover and Art. Rocks.
How much does FurzOff cost?
FurzOff is priced at $16.99 when purchased direct from AMV, LLC at amvllcproducts.com. Earlier listings showed it at $12.99, and prices at third-party retailers can differ. Because it is a one-time purchase with nothing to replace, there are no refills or batteries to buy.
Does FurzOff come with a guarantee?
Yes. Every FurzOff is backed by a 100% unconditional, lifetime guarantee from AMV, LLC. The company stands behind the tool for the life of the product, reflecting that the recycled-glass stone has nothing to wear out.
How do I use FurzOff?
Simply swipe FurzOff over the fabric or carpet using a light sweeping motion. The scaled surface rakes embedded hair up and gathers it into a removable mat that you lift off by hand. For stubborn, deeply woven hair, repeat the sweeping passes in the same direction.
Can FurzOff be used to groom horses?
FurzOff's technology is closely tied to AMV's Groomer's Stone, which is marketed specifically for horses, cats and dogs. The horse application actually began when a girl at a trade show asked whether the product could remove bot-fly eggs from a horse's legs; it worked well for that and for general grooming. The grooming version lifts shedding hair, mud, bugs, burs, botfly eggs and dander while massaging the animal.
Is FurzOff gentle on a horse's skin?
The grooming version of the tool, AMV's Groomer's Stone, is designed to be gentle. Unlike grooming tools with harsh penetrating teeth, it uses a soft surface action that grabs loose hair by the tips and never touches the animal's sensitive skin. One owner noted it is, in most cases, better than a currycomb and is much easier on her horses' sensitive spots.
What surfaces is FurzOff good for?
FurzOff works on clothing, furniture, carpeting, comforters, pillows, blankets, car seats and floors. It performs best on durable woven surfaces such as automotive carpeting, trunk liners, sturdy couches and cat trees, where hair gets deeply embedded.
Are there surfaces I should not use FurzOff on?
Yes. FurzOff is not recommended for silk, satin, fine knits, leather, vinyl or plastic surfaces. Its rigid raking texture is built for durable woven fabrics, so delicate or smooth materials should be cleaned another way.
How is FurzOff different from a lint roller or vacuum?
Lint rollers and vacuums tend to skim hair off the surface, while FurzOff's rigid scaled texture reaches into the woven fibers and pulls embedded hair up and out. AMV describes it as more effective and more durable than rubber tools, sticky rollers and vacuuming. It also uses no electricity, no adhesive refills and has no plastic parts to wear out.
Is FurzOff eco-friendly?
Yes. FurzOff is made from 90% post-consumer recycled materials, repurposing ground beer and wine bottles into a reusable tool. It needs no batteries, no electricity and no disposable refills, so it does not generate the waste stream of sticky-roller sheets or replacement parts.
How long does a FurzOff last?
For the average pet owner, a single FurzOff stone lasts several years of regular use. Because there are no moving parts, batteries or consumables, the tool simply keeps working, which is why AMV backs it with a lifetime guarantee.
What are the dimensions and weight of FurzOff?
FurzOff measures approximately 5 inches by 3 inches by 1.5 inches and weighs about 4 ounces. It is grey in color and compact enough to keep in a car, tack room or closet. Its light weight makes it easy to handle during extended grooming or cleaning sessions.
Is FurzOff hypoallergenic and odor-free?
Yes. FurzOff is hypoallergenic and odor-free, with no plastic parts and nothing to wear out. Because it relies on a recycled-glass surface rather than chemicals, sprays or adhesives, it does not introduce scents or residues to fabric or fur.
Where is FurzOff made and how do I contact the company?
FurzOff is made in the U.S.A. by AMV, LLC in the La Crosse, Wisconsin area. You can reach the company by phone at (608) 785-0032, by email at [email protected], or by mail at P.O. Box 3124, La Crosse, WI 54602. The product is sold directly at amvllcproducts.com.

Rocks, faux rocks used in crafts, dioramas, model-train displays and decorative fountains. All are built from the same recycled foamed-glass technology developed by Chris Andersen.
