What does JB Horse Standards build?

JB Horse Standards manufactures premium show jumps and training aids for recreational riders, professional trainers, and show producers across the United States. The catalog spans poles, wings, schooling standards, cavaletti, gates, planks, ground fillers, jump cups and tracks, coops, Grand Prix wings, and a newer line of horse stalls. Both wooden and aluminum jumps are offered, in traditional and fully custom forms, with rental options available for large show producers.

Who builds the jumps?

JB Horse Standards is owned by avid equestrian Jonathan Berger, who officially launched the company in January of 2017 from a love of riding and a passion for building. The operation grew from a garage into a manufacturing shop near Sacramento, California, and now runs with a team of roughly ten, including five in-house builders plus dedicated office staff. Their jumps are featured at many of the top show venues on the West Coast.

What materials and hardware go into each jump?

Aluminum schooling standards stand 63" (1.6m) tall, are built from powder-coated aluminum, and ship with a set of galvanized steel pinless jump cup tracks — lightweight, easy to move, weather-proof, and resistant to rot and rust. Wooden custom standards feature a 60" tall wooden frame finished with premium all-weather hardware, including galvanized metal jump cup tracks. Special-order powder-coat colors include red, pink, orange, yellow, hunter-green, lime green, blue, light-blue, purple, brown, grey, and black.

How does the custom jump process work?

Every custom jump starts with a spark of imagination, a stir of excitement, and a few notes jotted on paper. From there, specialized materials are ordered, computer mockups are turned into blueprints, and the final details are hammered out one last time to ensure a smooth workflow before the build begins. The shop produces custom ground fillers, Grand Prix wings for international shows, and virtually any jump a rider, barn, or brand can imagine — including logo and color schemes that represent a business or program.

Which package fits your arena?

Pre-designed packages scale to the size of your ring: the Bronze Package supplies enough jumps for 1 oxer and 4 verticals, the Silver Package covers 2 oxers and 6 verticals, and the Gold Package delivers 3 oxers and 8 verticals. Clients choose the paint color for poles and planks and the style of ground fillers, so a complete course arrives matched to your barn's look. A Personalized Jump Package offers an affordable way to create a custom jump-and-gate feature to represent your business, give as a gift, or simply enjoy.

Who owns JB Horse Standards?
JB Horse Standards is owned by avid equestrian Jonathan Berger. He launched the company in January of 2017, growing it from a love of riding and a passion for building. What began in his garage expanded into a manufacturing shop near Sacramento, California, and Jonathan now leads a team of roughly ten people.
Where is JB Horse Standards located?
The company is based in the Sacramento, California area, in Rancho Cordova. Jonathan Berger runs the manufacturing shop there with a crew of about ten, including five in-house builders plus dedicated office staff. Their jumps are featured at many of the top show venues on the West Coast and shipped to riders across the United States.
When did JB Horse Standards start?
JB Horse Standards officially began in January of 2017. The business started after Jonathan Berger took up riding lessons and his trainer asked him to build her some jumps. His creations were shared on Facebook, riders began reaching out for his phone number to order their own, and the hobby grew into a full manufacturing company.
What products does JB Horse Standards make?
The catalog includes poles, wings, schooling standards, cavaletti, gates, planks, ground fill, jump cups and tracks, coops, Grand Prix wings, and a newer line of horse stalls. Jumps are available in both wooden and aluminum construction, in traditional and fully custom designs. The shop also offers jump rentals for large show producers.
What is the difference between the aluminum and wooden jumps?
Aluminum schooling standards are 63" (1.6m) tall, made from powder-coated aluminum, and are lightweight, easy to move, weather-proof, and resistant to rot and rust. Wooden custom standards stand 60" tall on a wooden frame with premium all-weather hardware. Both styles use galvanized jump cup tracks — galvanized steel pinless tracks on the aluminum standards and galvanized metal tracks on the wooden frames.
What colors are available for JB Horse Standards jumps?
With a special order, jumps can be powder-coated in red, pink, orange, yellow, hunter-green, lime green, blue, light-blue, purple, brown, grey, and black. On package orders, clients also choose the paint color for poles and planks. This lets a barn match its jumps to a program's branding or a rider's preferred look.
What jump packages does JB Horse Standards offer?
There are three core package tiers. The Bronze Package supplies enough jumps for 1 oxer and 4 verticals, the Silver Package covers 2 oxers and 6 verticals, and the Gold Package delivers 3 oxers and 8 verticals. A Personalized Jump Package is also offered as an affordable way to create a custom jump-and-gate feature.
Does JB Horse Standards build fully custom jumps?
Yes. Custom work is central to the business. Every custom jump starts with a spark of imagination and a few notes on paper, after which specialized materials are ordered, computer mockups are converted into blueprints, and final details are confirmed before the build begins. The shop creates custom ground fillers, Grand Prix wings, logo features, and nearly any design a rider, barn, or brand can imagine.
How long does a custom jump take to build?
Because each custom jump moves through a deliberate workflow — concept notes, ordering specialized materials, computer mockups, blueprints, and a final design review before fabrication — lead times depend on the complexity and size of the order. The best way to get an accurate timeline for your project is to contact the shop directly at [email protected] or (916) 500-2508 for a quote and schedule.
Can I get jumps with my barn or business logo on them?
Yes. JB Horse Standards builds personalized and branded features, including custom panels, ground fillers, and gates that can carry a logo or color scheme. The Personalized Jump Package is described as an affordable option to create a custom jump-and-gate feature to represent your business, give as a gift, or just have for fun.
Does JB Horse Standards rent jumps for horse shows?
Yes. In addition to selling jumps, the company offers equipment rental services for large show producers. This makes it possible to outfit a show ring with a full, professional-looking course without owning all the equipment outright. Show producers can contact the shop to discuss rental availability for an upcoming event.
What are Grand Prix wings and does JB make them?
Grand Prix wings are the larger, decorative standards used at the upper levels of show jumping and international competition. JB Horse Standards builds Grand Prix wings for international shows as part of its custom and professional offerings. These are produced to the same quality standard as the rest of the line, with custom color and design options available.
How much do the jump accessories cost?
Individual accessories are sold alongside the standards and packages. For example, pinless jump cups are offered at $19.99 a pair. Aluminum schooling standards include a set of galvanized steel pinless jump cup tracks with the pair. For current pricing on complete packages and other accessories, contact the shop directly, as many items are quoted based on the configuration ordered.
Does JB Horse Standards ship across the United States?
Yes. The company manufactures premium jumps for both recreational and professional riders across the United States. While the shop and many of its featured installations are on the West Coast near Sacramento, orders are sold and shipped nationwide. Reach out by email or phone to confirm shipping details and quotes for your location.
How do I contact JB Horse Standards to place an order?
You can email the shop at [email protected] or call or text (916) 500-2508. The website lists aluminum and wooden packages, individual standards, poles, and accessories, and the team handles custom quotes, rentals, and design consultations. Reaching out by phone or text is the quickest way to start a custom design or ask about availability.
Are JB Horse Standards jumps suitable for both schooling and competition?
Yes. The line is built for recreational riders, professional trainers, and show producers alike, ranging from durable everyday schooling standards to Grand Prix wings used at international shows. The aluminum schooling standards are weather-proof and easy to move for daily ring use, while the custom wooden jumps and Grand Prix features serve high-level competition settings.
What makes JB Horse Standards different from other jump companies?
Each jump is handcrafted using quality materials and skill to produce beautiful, unique features, and the business is run by a rider who builds for riders. The slogan captures the approach — JB Horse Standards helps equestrians across the USA keep a "jump" ahead of the competition. With in-house builders, full custom design capability, color and logo options, packages, and rentals, the shop can outfit anything from a backyard arena to a top West Coast show venue.
