About Elmendorf MFG
Elmendorf MFG, located in the heart of southern Minnesota, has been serving customers since 2001. We began by serving local but have worked out to other customers and connections. Our interest in horse stalls began when we were asked to finish a job for a friend. Since then, we have created a new design using stainless steel with wood, creating a modern, sleek look. Using stainless steel rather than standard steel, we have improved our craftsmanship so that we can present you with a durable horse stall that is built to last. We do our best to customize your horse stall according to your needs and offer deliveries nationwide once we have discussed what you need and quoted accordingly.
Elmendorf Manufacturinghas built a reputation for specializing in stainless steel horse stalls designed specifically for equine environments. What Advantages DoesStainless SteelOffer?
While stainless steel can be more spendy compared to standard steel, it does not require protective coating and is designed to withstand humid environments against rust, oxidation, and pitting with no risk of flaking paint. Its smooth surface is easier to clean, and it offers a more modern, sleek appearance. It is more ideal in harsh environments and is stronger than regular steel, allowing for thinner, lighter yet durable structure. Built for longevity, it can be more budget friendly in the long run with minimal maintenance.
Elmendorf MFG, located in the heart of southern Minnesota, has been serving customers since 2001. Elmendorf may be the only actual manufacturer of Stainless Steel Stalls for horse barns in America today. Stainless steel does not require a protective coating and is designed to withstand humid environments without rust, oxidation, or pitting — and there is no risk of flaking paint. Galvanized steel is coated with zinc to resist rust, but over time the coating can wear away — particularly in environments exposed to urine, manure acids, and aggressive cleaning agents. Once that protective coating is compromised, corrosion can begin. Stainless steel is corrosion resistant throughout the material itself — it does not rely on a surface coating, which makes it ideal for harsh, humid, or wet environments. For facilities planning for decades of service, that distinction matters.
The horse stall frame, structure, doors, and windows are all stainless steel. The bottom part of the stall and door has wood that slides in firmly to create a modern classic look. The wood is an additional cost.
Yes. Elmendorf has the ability to custom-fabricate stalls to fit your exact barn layout — a big advantage for newly designed barns and for older barns looking to improve. Customizations include:
The doors are designed to slide across the front of the stall — wheels attached at the top run inside a track welded above the front stall, with door stoppers preventing the door from sliding too far. The door can be on the left or right side, with a spring-loaded pin that holds it in place. Feeders attach from inside so you can tilt them out in the front with a latch and refill them without going inside the stall. They are built from sturdy plastic with a big opening for hay and a small opening for oats or grains.
Stalls are custom-made and custom-fit to order. After the desired layout and dimensions are confirmed, Elmendorf does its best to satisfy customers in 3 — 4 weeks, depending on order size and customization. Beyond stalls, Elmendorf also makes saddle holders, pad racks, horseshoe hangers, and window guards — all in stainless steel.
