The Hay Manager™was designed by a livestock owner who wanted to preserve their hay-- soon friends and neighbors were demanding to have one made for them too and the business was born!

How The Hay Manager™ Came To Be...
It’s the old story. Hay prices going up and ranchers watching their hay get stomped into the ground. All that money ending up in mud and manure. Owner, Andy Lacey’s father decided he needed to create something to preserve his hay, was safe for horses and durable enough to last for decades to come. The Hay Manager™was his own design for his own horses and cattle— but the neighbors soon noticed and they noticed something else too: That hay was staying clean and fresh while Their hay was getting muddy, moldy and filled with manure. So many neighbors came to Andy’s father that the decision was made to give this great product a name— and to allow other horse owners to enjoy it’s benefits too— and that is how The Hay Manager came to be!

The Solution Section
How did The Hay Manager™ come to be?

Owner Andy Lacey's father watched hay prices climb while ranchers watched their hay get stomped into mud and manure. He decided to build something that would preserve his hay, be safe for horses, and last for decades. He designed it for his own horses and cattle — and when neighbors saw his hay staying clean while theirs went muddy and moldy, they started asking for one of their own. That demand is how the business was born.

How does The Hay Manager actually reduce wasted hay?

The Hay Manager's cone rod and chain system keeps the bale elevated, reduces an animal's ability to sort or scatter hay, and discourages trampling. The result is significantly less waste than conventional feeders. The estimated efficiency rate is 85% to 95%, and many customers report nearly zero hay wasted thanks to the structure and the adjustable cone rods.

How much hay can I expect to save with The Hay Manager?

Many users report saving between 10% and 30% more hay per bale compared to traditional feeders. For a 1,000-lb. bale, that translates to saving up to 100 — 300 lbs. of hay per bale. Actual savings depend on how many horses are being fed and how quickly they go through a bale.

What is The Hay Manager built from, and how long will it last?

Each feeder is built from 14-gauge steel, weighs about 700 lbs, and uses a circular design for added strength. The feeders have undergone 18 years of field testing in working conditions. Some clients have had theirs in service for as long as 18 years and they are still going strong.

What size bales does The Hay Manager accommodate, and are the cone rods adjustable?

The Hay Manager™ is built to handle any size bale with its 8 ft diameter — from grass bales to silage bales, the strength can handle all weights. There are 18 cone rods that support the bale off the ground, and they are adjustable by chain so you can widen or narrow the spaces to fit your individual needs and reduce sorting.
