Note:Despite the extreme quality of materials and sturdy build, The Hay Manager feeder is competitively priced when compared to other cone-style feeders, offering superior efficiency and a faster ROI due to greater savings on hay
Owner Andy Lacey's father watched hay prices climb while ranchers watched their hay get stomped into mud and manure. He decided to build something that would preserve his hay, be safe for horses, and last for decades. He designed it for his own horses and cattle — and when neighbors saw his hay staying clean while theirs went muddy and moldy, they started asking for one of their own. That demand is how the business was born.
The Hay Manager's cone rod and chain system keeps the bale elevated, reduces an animal's ability to sort or scatter hay, and discourages trampling. The result is significantly less waste than conventional feeders. The estimated efficiency rate is 85% to 95%, and many customers report nearly zero hay wasted thanks to the structure and the adjustable cone rods.
Many users report saving between 10% and 30% more hay per bale compared to traditional feeders. For a 1,000-lb. bale, that translates to saving up to 100 — 300 lbs. of hay per bale. Actual savings depend on how many horses are being fed and how quickly they go through a bale.
Each feeder is built from 14-gauge steel, weighs about 700 lbs, and uses a circular design for added strength. The feeders have undergone 18 years of field testing in working conditions. Some clients have had theirs in service for as long as 18 years and they are still going strong.
The Hay Manager™ is built to handle any size bale with its 8 ft diameter — from grass bales to silage bales, the strength can handle all weights. There are 18 cone rods that support the bale off the ground, and they are adjustable by chain so you can widen or narrow the spaces to fit your individual needs and reduce sorting.
The Hay Manager is available through an expansive network of local dealers. Reach out to your nearest dealer for up-to-date pricing and ordering details tailored to your area. For questions or help, you can phone Andy directly at 605-633-0038.
