  • MR32- The MR32 combines heavy duty, quality steel frame and reel construction with the simple, yet maneuverable two wheel design like it's smaller counterpart-the MR25. Build to withstand heavy use, the MR32 operates from a 1 inch line (or 3/4" hose if flow and pressure is adequate) and allows irrigated areas up to 300 feet long and 120 feet wide for sports fields, horse arenas, hobby farms, or any area up to 4 acres. The MR32 is also available with a hitch kit making it compatible for towing with an ATV or small garden tractor! An excellent reel irrigator for many different applications!
  • MR32 Ultra Drive- The MR32 Ultra Drive utilizes dry cell battery technology that powers a small 12-volt motor to retract the hose. Simply charge the battery, move the unit to any operating location and begin watering for up to eight hours of continuous operation. This system does not require any water flow or pressure to retract the hose, meaning any water source from 3 to 30 gallons per minute is adequate. Low pressure is not a problem with the Ultra Drive!
  • MR43- The MR43 is the ideal machine for achieving single pass coverage on football fields, large riding arenas, and more. With flow ranges from 15 to 50 gallons per minute and a 393 feet hose length, the MR43 can effectively water up to 1.5 acres in a single pull! The ability to add the reliable Honda boost pump kit, can greatly enhance performance in low-pressure situations.

What Is The Advantage Of A Micro Rain™ System?

Micro Rain travelers have years of proven field service and simply do the job! Constructed with a durable all-metal chassis and drum design, these machines are built to stand up to years of use. At the heart of the Micro Rain is the rugged and reliable turbine drive system. Smooth and efficient power is developed as the water flows past the fins of the turbine impeller, powering our direct mounted gearbox system to drive the reel. All water entering the turbine remains in the system and passes through the sprinkler head, eliminating any need for water to be wasted or dumped around the machine unlike other drive systems.

The Micro Rain™ system can use a variety of water sources, such as wells, lakes, rivers, municipal water or grey water from lagoons.

The turbine drive system has earned the reputation of being very forgiving when faced with water quality issues such as high mineral contents, grit and sand.

What Do Customers Say About Micro Rain?

"I think it is the greatest thing since electricity! I've had a couple of people look at it and ask how I can justify the cost. I tell them to go home and figure out how much they are spending in time or equipment costs(not to mention safety for them and their horses due to poor or slick ground) and they will find, as I did, you can't afford not to have a Micro Rain."
"This system simply does the job so easily you'll wonder how you ever got by without it. The sheer ease of setup and operation, freeing you from having to watch over its progression, is alone worth having one. You'll be seeing this fantastic new sprinkler system around the majority of arenas due to its excellent portability and ease of use!"

What is a Micro Rain turbine-driven traveling sprinkler?

A Micro Rain system is a self-propelled, hose-reel traveling sprinkler that waters a long lane of arena, field, or pasture completely unattended. You position the machine at one end, pull the hose-and-cart out to the far end, connect water, and engage the turbine drive; the reel then slowly retracts the cart back across the ground while the sprinkler lays down even moisture the whole way. When the cart reaches the machine, the unit automatically shuts off. Models scale from the garden-hose-fed MR25 up to the high-volume MR63, so the same simple concept covers everything from a small dressage ring to a polo field.

Who makes Micro Rain and where is it built?

Micro Rain is distributed by The KID Group, headquartered in Yukon, Oklahoma, where every traveler is assembled and water-tested before it ships. The company describes itself as a distributor of unique irrigation and turf-maintenance products with a goal of offering the most dependable, convenient irrigation while delivering unparalleled customer service. Components are sourced globally, but final assembly and quality verification happen in Yukon so each machine arrives ready to run. You can reach the company directly.

How the patented turbine drive actually works

At the heart of every traveler is Micro Rain's turbine drive: smooth, efficient power develops as water flows past the fins of a turbine impeller, powering a direct-mounted gearbox that turns the reel. Crucially, all water entering the turbine stays in the system and passes out through the sprinkler head, so nothing is wasted or dumped around the machine the way piston- and bellows-driven travelers do. The compact, direct-coupled design eliminates belts, pulleys, springs, and unnecessary parts, and it is very forgiving of water-quality problems such as high mineral content, grit, and sand. That tolerance lets the units run off wells, ponds, lakes, rivers, municipal lines, or grey water.

Which model fits your arena or field

The MR25 connects to a standard 3/4-inch garden hose, runs on roughly 3 to 10 GPM, and is the favorite for small arenas and dressage rings. The MR32 pairs a heavy-duty steel frame and reel with a maneuverable two-wheel design and waters lanes up to about 300 feet long by 120 feet wide. The MR43 carries 393 feet of hose, runs 15 to 60 GPM, and covers up to 1.5 acres in a single pull on a three-wheel chassis. Larger turf operations step up to the MR50, MR58 (up to 100 GPM, about 2 acres per pass), and MR63 (up to 140 GPM). Booster-pump "BP" versions add a Honda engine that raises pressure 50 to 75 psi, and the MR58RL adds a rotating base for 180-degree bidirectional pulls covering well over 1,300 feet of total lane.

Why arena owners choose unattended watering

Horse owners know that maintaining moisture in the footing is what controls dust and keeps the surface safe and uniform for the horse and rider. Micro Rain markets its travelers as the labor-free solution to watering dusty arenas, replacing hand-watering, dragging hoses, and running water trucks. Because each pass is set to a chosen retraction speed and shuts down on its own, you can start a watering cycle and walk away to do barn chores. The result is consistent, even moisture across the whole arena instead of the wet-and-dry patches that hand watering leaves behind.

What is a Micro Rain turbine-driven self-traveling sprinkler?
It is a self-propelled hose-reel traveling sprinkler that waters a long lane of ground without anyone tending it. You pull the sprinkler cart out to the far end of the arena or field, connect water, and the turbine drive slowly winds the hose back in while the sprinkler applies even moisture along the way. When the cart returns to the machine, the unit shuts itself off.
Who makes Micro Rain and where is it located?
Micro Rain is distributed by The KID Group, based in Yukon, Oklahoma. Each traveler is assembled and water-tested in Yukon before it ships. The company positions itself as a distributor of dependable, convenient irrigation and turf-maintenance products backed by strong customer service.
How does the Micro Rain turbine drive work?
Water flowing past the fins of a turbine impeller develops smooth, efficient power that turns a direct-mounted gearbox, which drives the reel and pulls the cart in. All the water entering the turbine stays in the system and exits through the sprinkler head, so none is wasted or dumped on the ground around the machine. The design eliminates belts, pulleys, springs, and extra parts found on other drive systems.
What makes a turbine drive better than piston or bellows drives?
On many traveling sprinklers, piston and bellows drives dump or bypass water around the machine to create motion, wasting it. Micro Rain's turbine keeps every drop in the system and sends it out the sprinkler, and the compact, direct-coupled design has far fewer wear parts. It is also very forgiving of poor water quality such as high mineral content, grit, and sand.
Why do horse arenas need watering in the first place?
Maintaining moisture in the footing is how you control dust and keep the surface uniform and safe for the horse and rider. Dry arena footing kicks up dust that is hard on equine and human lungs and can become loose and unsafe. Consistent moisture firms the footing and keeps it riding the way it should.
How is this better than hand watering or a water truck?
Micro Rain markets its travelers as the labor-free solution to watering dusty arenas, replacing hand-held hoses, dragging lines, and running water trucks. Because you set the retraction speed and the unit shuts off automatically, you can start a cycle and walk away to do other chores. It also lays down more even moisture than hand watering, which tends to leave wet and dry patches.
Which model is right for a small arena or dressage ring?
The MR25 is the popular choice for small arenas and dressage rings. It connects to a standard 3/4-inch garden hose and runs on roughly 3 to 10 gallons per minute, so it works with ordinary household water supply. Owners report it controls dust and gives safe, uniform footing on smaller spaces.
What can the MR32 cover?
The MR32 combines a heavy-duty, quality steel frame and reel with a maneuverable two-wheel design. It can irrigate areas up to roughly 300 feet long and 120 feet wide and runs on about 7 to 20 gallons per minute. It is built for heavier, more frequent use than the entry-level MR25.
How much ground can the MR43 water?
The MR43 carries 393 feet of hose, runs on a flow range of about 15 to 60 gallons per minute, and can effectively water up to 1.5 acres in a single pull. It rides on a three-wheel chassis with an integrated stabilizer hitch, which makes it suitable for larger riding arenas and even football fields.
What are the largest Micro Rain models?
The MR58 handles flows up to about 100 gallons per minute and waters up to 2 acres in a single pass, while the MR63 can use up to 140 gallons per minute on a 2.1-inch-diameter hose. The MR50 carries 558 feet of hose for wetted lengths up to about 650 feet. These larger units suit sports fields, polo fields, golf courses, parks, and cemeteries.
What is the difference between a standard model and a BP version?
The BP (booster-pump) versions add a Honda gas engine that raises water pressure so the traveler can run where supply pressure is low. Depending on the model, the booster increases pressure by roughly 50 to 75 psi, and the BP units add a 7-gallon auxiliary fuel tank and a flow-sensor shutdown. Examples include the MR43BP (5.5 HP Honda GX160) and the MR58BP and MR63BP (9 HP Honda engines).
What is the MR58RL and its rotating base?
The MR58RL has a rotating base that allows 180-degree rotation, so it can make bidirectional pulls and cover up to roughly 1,320 feet of total lane length. It carries about 660 feet of hose on a heavy galvanized frame. With the booster (MR58RLBP) it can water over 750 feet long by 190-plus feet wide.
What water sources can a Micro Rain system run on?
Because the turbine is forgiving of water-quality issues like minerals, grit, and sand, Micro Rain travelers can run off almost any source: wells, ponds, lakes, rivers, municipal water, or grey water. The smaller MR25 even runs off a standard 3/4-inch garden hose. Matching the model to your available flow (GPM) and pressure is the key sizing decision.
Does the sprinkler really shut off by itself?
Yes. The systems are designed for unattended operation, with adjustable speed control and automatic shutdown. You set the retraction rate, engage the turbine drive, and the machine waters its lane and then automatically shuts off when the cart returns. That is what allows truly hands-off arena and field watering.
How do I set up a Micro Rain traveler for an arena pass?
Position the machine at one end of the arena, then pull the hose and sprinkler cart to the opposite end. Connect your water source, set the retraction speed, and engage the turbine drive. The cart then travels back across the arena laying down even moisture and shuts off when it reaches the machine.
Where can I buy a Micro Rain system and how do I get pricing?
Micro Rain sells through a distributor and dealer network rather than a single online cart, and the website includes a dealer locator and dealer login. To get a quote, choose the right model for your water supply, or find your nearest dealer, call Micro Rain at 800-373-9325 or use the Contact Us page at www.microrain.net. Full specs and the How It Works explainer are also on the site.
What applications besides horse arenas does Micro Rain serve?
In addition to horse arenas, Micro Rain travelers are used on sports fields and grounds, crops and gardens, food plots and pastures, and in industrial dust-control settings. Larger models are popular for golf courses, cemeteries, parks, polo fields, and football fields with natural or artificial surfaces. The same turbine-drive, unattended-watering concept scales across all of these uses.
