Horse Fence Direct™ is a small family owned business that has been in the equine world for decades that started with a love for horses and competing in 4-H and local show circuits to opening an Equine Rescue, Rehabilitation and Sanctuary Facility in Ohio, The Healing Barn. Nancy is known as our healer and is the one who spends most of her days in the barn with our herd rehabbing and healing. Corri, our trainer and manager, helps rehab and train the herd utilizing both her Equine Science and Equine Business Management Degrees from the University of Findlay is who you will get most days managing the phones. Connie, our design and installation expert who also has her own farm and small herd, is available to help you plan your project. And lastly, Allen, our installation and troubleshoot expert who maintains our fences on our farm, but is also widely knowledgeable in fencing and installation helping our customers complete their DIY fencing projects as needed.

How does CenFlex flexible rail fence work?

CenFlex® HTP® is a 5″ fence rail built from three 12.5-gauge galvanized high-tensile steel wires embedded in a tough HTP® Polymer coating, giving a 5″ total rail width on a 660′ roll. Because each rail installs in one continuous length, an impact is absorbed along the entire run of fence rather than at a single point, so it flexes instead of breaking. The company states it "installs faster than wood and rigid PVC and will never splinter, rust, rot or crack." Why is ElectroBraid both a fence and a deterrent?

ElectroBraid™ is a permanent electric fence designed especially for horses that acts as both a physical barrier and a psychological deterrent. It is built from high-grade polyester rope — the same fiber used in automotive seat belts and parachute harnesses — with a double helix of copper wire conductors braided into the outer jacket, in white, black or speckled colors at ¼ inch diameter. The rope has a 1,300 lb break strength to absorb a galloping horse, while an extremely low-amperage shock for 3/10,000 of a second, once a second, teaches the horse to respect the line. Copper is chosen because it is 70 times more conductive than steel, and The Braid™ costs 16 to 18 cents a foot.
