About Lucas Equine Equipment

With a history rooted in horse stalls, Lucas Equine Equipment takes its name from Mr. Lucas who started a company in Cynthiana that built paddock gates for the local horse farms in nearby Lexington, Kentucky. Then, in 1981, Dana Looker purchased Mr. Lucas' business and, with a three-man welding shop, set a goal to provide the local market with quality, custom manufactured gates, doors and grills.

Architects and builders quickly picked up on Lucas Equine Equipment’s unique expertise in building horse stall components that met the demanding specifications of the local farm owners. With the support of these building professionals Lucas Equine Equipment's growth exploded to 31 full time employees, a 70,000 square foot facility and a reputation for excellence that is unparalleled manufacturing today.If You Can Dream It, We Can Build It!

Our Partitions Are Designed To Fit The Needs Of You and Your Horses!

Lucas Equine designs and builds horse stall partitions in a variety of configurations. They are always built to your exact specifications and measurements. Our stall partitions are designed to be both beautiful and functional. There are many design options available, and the design of your partitions should be based on three things:

Is It True I can Mix, Match or Even Customize Stall Doors?

YES! At Lucas Equine, you can mix and match the option you like to create a custom door that's just right for your barn. We can design a hinged stall door or sliding stall door. You can add grills to mount to a contractor-built wall to create a built-in stall for your barn. Every single Lucas Equine stall door and each steel grill insert is built to order, to your exact specifications. But What If I Want Dutch Doors?

We do a beautiful job on Dutch Doors… All dutch doors manufactured by Lucas Equine are custom. Our standard size would be 4’ x 8’. This size gives the ultimate look and versatility for your barn and horse. Dutch Doors are quite eye catching and very practical for horses too!

Now… Time For the Windows— Are Custom windows possible?

All windows manufactured by Lucas Equine are custom. We manufacture every window to the exact specifications set by each client. This can be as simple as a small size adjustment or as extravagant as etching your farm logo into the tempered glass.

So… How Do I Proceed With An Order?
It is easy! Just give us a phone call and we be with you every step of the way. To start, we will ask you questions like...

• How many stalls?
• What type of horses do you own?
• What does your budget look like?
• Do you have a design picked out from our photo gallery?

Then….It’s on to the Design!
This is the really FUN part and where all the magic happens! If all criteria checks out and Lucas Equine is a good fit for you, the design process will start. This is where our design team will help customize the hardware to your exact specifications. We won’t charge you one dime more than we have to, to ensure a barn that will be a thing of beauty, safety, durability and all within your budget. During the quoting process, this is the time to narrow down the design to keep the scope of work within your budget. Our team will always do our best to help you save money where we can. It is important to know that our team will not cut corners on materials or quality to reduce price. We provide superior designs and products with the best craftsmanship in the world to reach the high standard set many years ago.

Pay The Deposit, Get The Plans & We Start Building Your Stalls!

Before we can release shop drawings this is the point where your Design Expert will request a signed proposal and 25% deposit. The remaining balance will be requested either COD or prior to shipping. We will provide full detailed shop drawing for review and approval with as many revisions as needed to ensure Lucas Equine is building to the proper design and size. After approval we will start building your hardware. Be sure to ask your Design Expert of current turn-around times.

We Ship and You Install With Your Local Contractor

The install will be performed by a local contractor of your choosing. It is also important to note that your contractor will also be needed to unload the truck when it arrives to the farm. With our shop drawings and the ability to call anytime, your contractor will be in good hands during the install process.
