How Did Stable-Grid Come About?

Says owner, Debbie Reed, "As a horse owner in Virginia where the soil is solid clay, I spent an incredible amount of time repairing clay floors. The repairs would only last a few months before the holes reappeared and despite my best efforts- I had zero drainage.

After years of experimenting and working with several manufacturers with numerous products, I found a product that would hold up to horses and keep the material in place, however, this product was extremely costly, so I began to look for a product that had all the benefits of the original flooring system I had found, yet was affordable.

After years of searching it made sense to have engineers design a grid system which was a standard size (18"x24"x1.25"), snapped together quickly and easily, stayed level even with severe pounding, and was made in America (which is good for our economy) and much more cost effective for the end user.

The product, now called "Stable-Grid" is also manufactured using recycled plastic, which can be recycled again. This system can be used for stall flooring, run in sheds, aisles, round pens, arenas, wash racks, walkways, driveways, parking, paddocks, water tub and gate areas, high traffic areas, kennels, storage building flooring, greenhouse flooring, etc. It is the result of years of research and is a fraction of the cost of our competitors! What Advantages Does Stable-Grid Have To Offer?
Stable-Grid provides a permanent solution. The grid actually becomes a part of the natural flooring - as a stabilizer. The base layer and top layer will be permanently separated and unable to move. They are actually good for the environment as well as horses and other livestock. Stable-Grid System offers excellent durability, drainage, traction and comfort. The grid is interlocking which provides a one piece installation. There is no shifting, therefore no maintenance is required to maintain the level surface. Why Use Stable-Grid Instead Of A Rubber Mat?

Unlike rubber mats, the grids do not trap the wetness in the stall. The bedding stays dryer. Because the top edges of the grid are exposed they actually bear the weight of the horse providing a similar feel to rubber mats but with excellent traction. Because the grids are flush with the fill material, cleaning stalls is a breeze! You will find that tools glide over the surface. Stalls can be cleaned in a fraction of the usual time. Note: Bedding should be used over the grid just as you would with a dirt floor.

Can You Use Stable Grid For Paddocks and Arenas?

Yes! Stable-Grid provides a permanent separation of the base and top layers. Because it is installed in one-piece, the weight of the horse is dispersed across the entire area. The grids are inseparable; therefore there will be no movement of the fill layer. Paddocks and Arenas will stay level and because of the excellent drainage, they will be usable 365 days per year. They can be used in small areas that have mud issues such as gate areas and paths to and from turn out paddocks in the same manner. In grass areas, grass is able to grow through the grids giving a uniform appearance and because the grids bear the weight of the horses, the roots will not be damaged.

Note: Outdoor installations require a small layer of sand, etc. over the finished application for added traction and protection of the grid.

What About Stable-Grid For Run In Sheds?

Stable-Grid is a wonderful way to keep your Run In Sheds level and dry. They can easily be cleaned out with a flat shovel or tractor blade. The problem of thrush from horses standing in wet run in sheds is often eliminated.

Yes! We ship out immediately. Some of our customers figure out the amount of grid they need (LxW and divide by 3) and others call us with their area sizes. Either way, we go over the installation with the customer and their grid is on its way within 24 hours usually. We do ask Customers which will need over 7000 square feet, to let us know a week or so ahead so that we make sure to have their order in stock.
