The Base ShoeThe base shoe is made from a "sandwich-construction" of stainless steel plates surrounding a hard plastic center. A stamping process makes the individual parts, with very strict control of the properties of the materials used. These individual parts are then joined together by welding before the shoes are soldered in a special process, which ensures that all surfaces butting up to each other are 100% soldered together. This gives the product strength equal to that of the stainless steel itself.
