What Makes Our Company Different?

Debbie and Roger Johnson started Riata Leather because they saw a need for higher quality products at a more affordable price. Having competed in the horse industry for years doing everything from roping to racing they knew the value of a quality piece of tack as well as the importance of strong sturdy leather and stitching. They use and test all their products on their beautiful ranch located in the picturesque Ozark Mountains. Roger uses Riata tack for his various competitions from ranch sorting to heeling and it holds up great. Visitors to their indoor riding arena enjoy trying the tack and find it great for all disciplines from barrel racing to roping and trail riding. The Riata breast collar you choose depends on what kind of trail ride you plan on making. The wider breast collars are made for ropers but work very well for very rough and steep terrain as they distribute the pressure over a wider area. Our thinner type breast collars are for gentle trail riding and situations where light pressure will be put on the breast collar. Barrel racing, poles and trail riding over gentler ground is perfect for these types of breast collars as lighter weight is desirable. Our Casa Zia saddle pad is awesome for trail riding and if you want even more shock absorption try our contoured pad. Both of these provide excellent shock absorption as well as wonderful wicking of moisture. All our saddle pads and blankets are 100% high quality wool and any of these would be a good pad under a saddle, but the Casa Zia, Cool Ride and Contoured pad provide the most comfort for you and your horses back. You can also use a blanket under your pad to keep it clean.
