EZium... the Only Magnesium Glycinate For Horses!
Magnesium Glycinate offers the highest absorption in horses and EZium is one of the Only companies that offers this amazing mineral

How Did EZium Come To Be?Says creator, Dr. Teena Middleton Ph.D.:Have you ever had a horse that you just knew had lots of talent but they were always too “something” to achieve their potential? For me, that horse was “Music OF MY Heart." Everyday was something different - too tight, too reactive, too sensitive…..you name it. I tried everything before I discovered the power of chelated magnesium. However, there was no affordable chelated magnesium option that was easy to feed, which was why I invented EZium!

I never intended to go into business, I only wanted a pelleted supplement in my feedroom that soothed my "savage beast." Friends saw how it transformed “Music,” wanted the same results for their horses, and EZium was born. If it worked for “Music,” I know it will work for you.

So, What Exactly IS EZium Chelated Supplements For Horses?
EZium is a daily equine supplement that provides a unique source of magnesium, chelated for maximum absorption. Magnesium deficiencies can be brought on by stress, adrenaline, and physical exertion. Feeding EZium daily prevents the symptoms of magnesium deficiency that can lead to poor performance such as hyperexcitability, erratic behavior, muscle cramps, and metabolic disorders. Positive results in deficient horses can generally be seen within one to two weeks.

But Why Do I Need "Magnesium Glycinate"-- Won't Any Form of Magnesium Do?

Many forms of Magnesium simply aren't absorbable by your horse. Our Chelated Magnesium Glycinate in EZium is more bio-available (absorbable) by your horse than such as magnesium oxide, magnsium citrate, or magnesium proteinate... in addition the glycine component itself has mild calming properties, which can be useful for nervous or stressed metabolic horses.

How Can Magnesium Help My Insulin Resistant Horse?

Horses with metabolic issues often have insulin resistance, meaning their cells don’t respond efficiently to insulin. Magnesiumhas been proven by research toimproveinsulin sensitivity, supportmuscle function, andtolower laminitis risk. Magnesiumlowers blood sugar by sensitizing the insulin receptors, resulting in a more normal insulin response.

* Magnesium is a cofactor for enzymes involved in carbohydrate metabolism and insulin signaling. If a horse is low in magnesium, insulin resistance can worsen.

* Supplementing magnesium (especially in a highly absorbable form like glycinate) may help improve the horse’s glucose control and reduce spikes in blood sugar.

* Magnesium supports muscle relaxation and helps reduce stress or tension, which can be high in metabolic horses due to discomfort from laminitis or body soreness

* Magnesium glycinate is known for being gentle on the stomach and more calming than some other forms, which may help a metabolic horse that is also anxious or tense

* Magnesium has a role in reducing inflammation. Low Magnesium concentrations are associated with increased cytokine production and systemic inflammation. Supplemental Magnesium has also been shown to benefit horses impacted by endotoxemia, such as after a colic or bout of laminitis.

Do I Need To Worry About Diarrhea?

No! Because EZium contains a chelated source of Magnesium, the recommended dose does not provide an excess of Magnesium which can interfere with the absorption of other nutrients or cause diarrhea. The quantity of the highly available source of Magnesium provided by feeding two level scoops of EZium per day has been found to be ideal for most horses. But no horse is the same!

So for maximum health and performance benefits, your horse may require slightly more or less. Feel free to contact us to discuss your horse's specific needs.

How Do I Know If My Horse Might Need Magnesium?

All horses need magnesium! Getting lots of rain with green grass? Fast growing grass is LOW in magnesium and High in sugar, which can result in laminitis! Performance horses, horses that sweat, horses that don't sweat, horses that work out frequently or older horses can be especially prone, as can lactating mares-- just about every horse can greatly benefit from the protection thatEZium has to offer!

But My Feed Lists Magnesium As An Ingredient!

Often it is the magnesium oxide or sulfate--- or not enough. EZium was developed by an Equine Veterinarian ( Dr. Teena Middleton, a Ph.D. nutritionist with over 25 years of experience!)Remember: Magnesium will not help your horse-- if it can't be absorbed into the horse's body!

What EZium Formulas are offered at EZium!

One day during a magna-wave session, the woman that was doing the treatment recommended your product as a supplement in my feed program for her. I had owned Abbey for approx 6-8 months at this point. So we ordered a pail of Ezium and the rest is history. Halfway through our order I noticed a sizable difference in her demeanor. She was much less focused on the world around her... at least much less hyper-focus on the every day things that she would get antsy about such as if a broom tipped over or if the cross ties banged against the wall as you let them go when taking her back to her stall. Training became easier and overall she was just blossoming in weight and coat. Fast forward to the end of last summer where the second picture was taken at a barrel race. Yes, that’s Abbey with her first official trophy award! Abbey and I competed in a fundraiser barrel race to support kid’s cancer research and won a top spot in one of the divisions cutting a check and a sweet set of beaded spur straps. What made this even more special was that we ran our best personal time in this arena (one we frequent often) and beat my goal for us for the year. When I began hauling her in the early spring we would typically run 17. 4 second patterns in this arena and that day we ran a 16. 2... a huge improvement! I know I have Ezium to thank for our success as a huge contributing factor. Abbey is a different horse on this product... happier, more mellow, focused and healthier! Thank you again for your great produc t, my feed room is never without it!

What Do Horse Owners Say About EZium?

"I rescued this mare from auction not knowing she had major aggression. I tested her for many things and tried many treatments including ulcers, hormone therapy and other pain treatments. The only thing she responded to was EZium and CBD pellets. This mare was so dangerous, I was not able to go in the pasture with her for almost four months. Could only handle her through the fence on a good day. After 7 weeks on EZium, I could pet, brush her, flyspray and pick up feet. The change was amazing. I have used EZium for years on other horses with anxiety and other issues. I had no idea that aggression like this was a mag deficiency. Ezium truly saved this mare's life! "
Terri S.

"EZium was suggested to me by my trainer when my young horse started exhibiting signs of stress from trailering and increased training. Prior to using EZium, my normally level-headed young mare who lives outside 24/7 had started to show signs of stomach discomfort and I treated her for ulcers. I started her on EZium and saw a very quick change in her reaction to training - she became more calm and willing and seems very comfortable now. This is a product that is very easy to use and she readily eats it! It is now a permanent part of our nutritional program."
Heather M.

"An equine nutritionist helping me manage an insulin resistant horse I had in my dressage training program first told me about EZium Metabolic. I checked out the website and when I read through the list of signs your horse might have a magnesium deficiency, I immediately thought of another horse I had in my training program. Both horses, the IR horse and the horse with a resistant and sometimes spooky nature got started on their respective EZium products at about the same time. The change in the spooky and resistant horse was nearly immediate. I noticed a difference within 4 days and within 2 weeks the horse came off his calming supplement. Within a few months he had progressed enough that he was able to go home and work with his owner full time. The metabolic horse was showing more energy and looking more healthy and happy within a few weeks. He had more spring in his step and his weight improved. I was so impressed with the product that I put my young horse, who you could describe as not having a fantastic work ethic, a bit grumpy about putting himself together, on EZium and what a different horse! He is focusing better. His muscles glide, he is feeling fit and strong and willing. I now recommend this product regularly to my students and I have seen results each and every time." Michelle L.

"After one month I noticed my horse's topline filling in better. He also seems more focused on his work. I feel EZium is a very worthwhile supplement for all performance horses." Cricket G

"I struggled keeping my horse quiet and ever since being on the original EZium, he has been an angel to ride. I also have laminitic 23 year old pony who is on the Metabolic EZium and it has kept him happy and healthy"
Kirsten H.

"I got Abbey about 2 years ago and she was in some pretty rough condition from a second set of hands that had her after her race career. To this day I never understood what I thought I saw in her at the time, because as you can see, it was rough. My goal was to train Abbey from the ground up to become my next up and coming barrel racing mount. I had taken a lengthy hiatus from the rodeo/barrel racing world when my gelding retired and it was time for me to get back into it. Training Abbey was difficult and just handling her in general was even a challenge. The smallest amounts of movement or sound would trigger her to get jumpy, antsy and occasionally inconsolable over the matter.

“I put my special needs reiner on EZium metabolic formula last month. Just wanted to let you know it’s working great for his busy little mind. The EZium along with ulcer treatment has made a world of difference. Cobra is a reserve world champion now and gobbled up his supplement every morning at the show. He is a dream come true! He’s insulin resistant but blood work has been great for the past year and he’s lost a lot of his crest since I started adding chromium to his diet. I love that the EZium metabolic has chromium added to it. No more yucky liquid. Thank you!!” Lea I.Every Horse Can Benefit From EZium!Minerals-- especially Magnesium are everything to the health of your horse! If you get too much rain and the grass grows too fast, it doesn't have the time to absorb minerals the way it should and horses can get Laminitis or Founder. Without proper levels of magnesium, your horse can also become nervous, restless, spooky and just generally lacking in focus and well being. Most magnesium in your feeds are just not absorbable in amounts that can benefit for your horses. The Solution Section
How did EZium come to be?

Founder Dr. Teena Middleton, PhD — an equine nutritionist with over 25 years of experience — created EZium for her own horse, "Music of My Heart": a talented mare who was always too tight, too reactive, or too sensitive to perform consistently. Dr. Middleton tried everything before discovering chelated magnesium, but couldn't find an affordable, easy-to-feed pelleted version on the market. So she made one. "I never intended to go into business — I only wanted a pelleted supplement in my feedroom that soothed my savage beast." Friends saw the change in Music and asked for the same — and EZium was born.

Why does the form of magnesium matter — why glycinate?

Many forms of magnesium aren't well-absorbed by horses. Per EZium, chelated magnesium glycinate is more bio-available than magnesium oxide, magnesium citrate, or magnesium proteinate. The glycine component itself has mild calming properties — useful for nervous, stressed, or metabolic horses. True amino-acid chelates like magnesium glycinate are the most bioavailable, best absorbed, and most retained mineral form on the market.

What does magnesium deficiency look like, and how fast does EZium work?

Per EZium, magnesium deficiency in horses can present as hyperexcitability, erratic behavior, muscle cramps, and metabolic disorders — and is brought on by stress, adrenaline, and physical exertion. Even "My feed has magnesium in it" isn't a guarantee — most feeds use magnesium oxide or sulfate (less absorbable) or simply don't include enough. Positive results in deficient horses can generally be seen within 1-2 weeks on EZium.

How does magnesium help insulin-resistant or metabolic horses?

Magnesium is a cofactor for enzymes involved in carbohydrate metabolism and insulin signaling, so a deficiency makes insulin resistance worse. Per EZium: supplementing magnesium (especially as glycinate) supports glucose control and reduces blood-sugar spikes, sensitizes insulin receptors for a more normal insulin response, and supports muscle relaxation that often helps metabolic horses with discomfort from laminitis or body soreness. Magnesium glycinate is also gentle on the stomach and has a more calming effect — important for anxious or tense metabolic horses. Magnesium also has a role in reducing inflammation; supplemental magnesium has shown benefit in horses recovering from endotoxemia after colic or laminitis.

What EZium formulas are offered?

Three pelleted formulas, all built on magnesium glycinate. EZium — basic chelated magnesium in an alfalfa-based pellet. EZium METABOLIC — adds KemTRACE® Chromium (research-validated absorption) for metabolic horses. EZium+ Enteric — the gut-health formula, adds ButiPEARL and Clostat to nourish and repair small-intestine lining; the encapsulation technology times the nutrient release where it's needed in the GI tract; particularly designed for horses with leaky-gut syndrome. All three are sold in 1-month, 2-month, and 4-month supply sizes (recommended dose: one scoop twice daily) in pails, pouches, boxes, and bags. Find them at ezium.org or on Amazon.

Does EZium cause diarrhea or interfere with other minerals?

No. Because EZium uses chelated magnesium, the recommended dose doesn't provide the excess that would interfere with other nutrients or cause loose stool. Two level scoops per day is ideal for most horses. Each horse is different, so contact EZium if you want to talk through your horse's specific situation — they may recommend slightly more or less.

Which horses tend to need EZium most?

Per EZium, every horse benefits — but specific situations show acute need: fast-growing green grass after rain (high in sugar and low in magnesium, and the conditions that drive laminitis), performance horses, horses that sweat heavily, horses with anhidrosis, horses that work out frequently, older horses, and lactating mares. EZium positions the supplement as foundational coverage rather than a niche fix.

What do owners and trainers say?

Terri S. on a rescue auction mare with severe aggression: "After 7 weeks on EZium, I could pet, brush her, flyspray and pick up feet. EZium truly saved this mare's life." Heather M.'s young mare exhibiting trailering stress and stomach discomfort: "This is a product that is very easy to use and she readily eats it. It is now a permanent part of our nutritional program." Michelle L., dressage trainer, on her client's spooky resistant horse and an insulin-resistant horse simultaneously: "The change in the spooky and resistant horse was nearly immediate. Within 2 weeks the horse came off his calming supplement." Becca E.'s rescue mare Abbey, formerly inconsolable about minor sounds, now her barrel-racing partner: "We ran a 16.2 — a huge improvement... I know I have EZium to thank for our success as a huge contributing factor." Lea I.'s special-needs reiner Cobra is now reserve world champion on EZium METABOLIC.
