Is Arena Clear™ Safe For Horses and The Environment?

Absolutely. Arenaclear™ is non-toxic, non-corrosive, and environmentally safe. It has been approved in California since 1971 as an agricultural mineral and has a long history of safe use around animals, people, and plants. Horses can be ridden on the treated surface immediately after application, and there’s no danger to dogs, cats, or even curious barn kids who might wander across the arena.

What Is The Difference Between

Arenaclear™ and “WaterFREE"

Arenaclear™?

The regular Arenaclear™ is ideal for those who have access to water and can use it during the application and for occasional maintenance. “WaterFREE" ArenaClear™, on the other hand, is specially formulated for those who don’t have easy access to water or who simply want to eliminate watering altogether. While the initial cost for WaterFREE is higher, it offers the convenience of a truly “no-water” solution.

Note: The initial WaterFREE application in outdoor arenas lasts 12–15 months, with reapplication typically only needed once a year. Indoor applications of WaterFREE usually require just one treatment per year. Each additional yearly application will be 1/3 of the initial amount of product needed.

How is Arenaclear™

Applied?

Application is simple. The product is diluted with water and applied evenly to the arena surface. In outdoor arenas, this is best done when the surface is already slightly moist to help the product penetrate evenly. Once applied, Arenaclear™ starts working right away to improve moisture retention and footing stability.

Can
Arenaclear™ Help With Stall ODOR Too?
Yes. Many horse owners have found that applying Arenaclear™ to the soil beneath stall bedding helps reduce or even eliminate ammonia odors from urine. By allowing urine to penetrate deeper into the ground instead of pooling on the surface, Arenaclear™ helps minimize the strong smells that can build up in enclosed areas. While the manufacturer notes that they can’t guarantee this result, they have received many positive reports from customers who’ve experienced a noticeable improvement.

Where Else Can Arenaclear™ Be Used?
Great question!! ArenaClear™ is extremely versatile. It’s effective anywhere dust is a problem—driveways, paddocks, round pens, barn aisleways with dirt floors, and even indoor training areas. The same dust-suppressing, moisture-retaining qualities that make it perfect for arenas work just as well in any high-traffic area where footing conditions matter.

How Much Coverage Can I Expect Per Gallon?

One gallon of Arenaclear™ treats up to 10,000 square feet to a depth of 3–4 inches. This makes it a cost-effective solution for arenas of all sizes. For larger properties or facilities, multiple gallons can be purchased and applied as part of a planned footing maintenance program.

What Kind Of Results Do Most People Have?
