Dayton Ohio, known as the birthplace of invention, has brought the world many pivotal inventions like the airplane, pull-top openers on pop cans, and the folding step ladder, just to name a few. Well, the Inspirational bolt of enlightenment has struck the Dayton area again with the designed and patented Yukon Freedom Fit Horse Blanket!
Yukon Quick Fit™ HalterThe Yukon Quick Fit Halter™ is ideal for Equine operation where horses are lead to or from the barn to the field or turn out area. Traditional halters and lead ropes can be time consuming to put on and secure properly. Throwing a lead rope around the horse’s neck is not a safe way to lead a horse with a mind of its own. Quickly placed over the head and behind the ears, then secured halter with a pull of the lead rope around the nose. The whole process takes less than 2 seconds. To remove the halter, you just hold the cheek piece and pull forward allowing the halter to slide clear of the ears and muzzle, less than 1 second. Many minutes saved if moving a number of horses several times a day.
YES! The Yukon Quick Fit Halter™ is designed for horseman and non-horseman. Several women and nick named it the “Husband Halter” because all you have to tell the non-horsey spouse is “get the long piece behind the ears and the rope under the chin and pull”
These blankets are a game-changer! 2 years ago I sent out a call for help for Maverick's blanket rubs! Shoulder guards made no difference, I had tried multiple blanket brands and haven’t found anything that didn’t cause shoulder rubs. Mav has a lot of shoulder movement and plays quite rough in the field. Because I show through the winter show circuit, blankets are not optional.
Testimonial #2Maverick ended up with one of the very first prototypes of the Yukon Freedom Fit. It was amazing, within a month his hair was growing back even with him basically living in the medium weight blanket. The rest of that Spring and the following Winter he had that blanket on almost exclusively and no shoulder rubs in sight! The design works! If anyone has issues with blanket rubs, shoulders loosing hair, or even simply their horses lack of mobility with other blankets, I recommend you try Yukon Freedom Fit! Mav's blanket held up to 2 years of rough (and I mean rearing, biting, and sliding full force into the dirt " src="cid:5D6BCD07-E71D-4B70-B8E5-FB5882499DE1@local. ftr">rough) play! This fall he will be wearing it for the 3rd season in a row!! He’s Never had any blankets last this long. So glad I don’t have to by another blanket this fall. Yukon Freedom Fit blankets are worth their weight in gold!

I have a high headed, narrow chest 16.2h TWH. (Tennessee Walking Horse) Finding a blanket that fit her front end has been difficult. I was excited to find out I could order a size 80 blanket with a narrow yoke. With this unique design feature, I finally have a blanket that properly fits my horse.
How Do I Measure For Proper Fit?To get the proper fit and size for your horse, measure your horse from the center of it’s chest, along the rib cage to end of the buttocks (not to the center of the tail) This measurement is the blanket size. Round up if the measurement is between sizes. For the proper yoke size, measure the horse’s chest, while standing in front of the horse, from one boney, point of shoulder to the other. There is a picture on the website that shows where to find these points. The Yoke sizes measurements are listed in the blanket “Description” below “Add to Cart” Should you find your blanket not fitting you horse properly, please reach out to us.

Per Yukon Freedom Fit: Pam Heintz is a British Horse Society Instructor, Instructor and Former Director for the local Dayton Area Pony Club, long-time horse enthusiast, and native Daytonian. She grew up in Trotwood, Ohio (appropriate for a horse lover) just NW of Dayton. Per the company: Dayton — known as the birthplace of invention (airplane, pull-top can openers, folding step ladder) — has produced another innovation with Pam's patented Yukon Freedom Fit Horse Blanket.
The Quick Fit Halter design Pam discovered in the Amish world, obtained the right to use under her Yukon company, and lightly improved upon. Many firemen and police now carry the Yukon Quick Fit Halter to help with loose horses on the road.
Per Yukon Freedom Fit, the Quick Fit Halter is ideal where horses are led to or from barn to field. Traditional halters and lead ropes can be time-consuming to put on and secure properly; throwing a lead rope around the horse's neck is not safe. The Quick Fit:

Best use cases:
Important safety caveat: "The Yukon Quick Fit Halter should NOT be used to tie a horse in cross ties, at or in a trailer, or any place that you need to keep a horse secured because of the easy-off design."
Per Yukon Freedom Fit: yes. Per the company nickname: "the Husband Halter — because all you have to tell the non-horsey spouse is 'get the long piece behind the ears and the rope under the chin and pull.'"
Fire and Rescue + Police story from the source: "A Fire Department shared how they were able to restrain a horse that had gotten trapped after a fall. They said that the slightly stiff quality of the double-stitched nylon allowed them to maneuver the halter over the horse's head from a safe distance and quickly pull the lead rope to secure it in place — resulting in the ability to restrain the horse enough which aided in the positive outcome rescue of the animal."

Per Yukon Freedom Fit: "There really isn't another blanket like it." Most blankets are not adjustable to fit different neck sets and chest widths of different breeds. The Freedom Fit Blanket aims to break the mold with maximum adjustment.
