First, we are happy to help you-- so you can call us and we will walk you through step by step! For a general idea: In horse barns, we normally suggest one misting nozzle for each approximate 12'x12' stall plus a few for the aisles, doorways, and grooming and wash areas. Each nozzle will control approximately 1,000 to 1,500 cu. ft. of airspace, depending on the normal air currents in your facility.
The name is Py-Tech™, our dependable year in and year out performer. Py-Tech™ contains two active ingredients, one of which is pyrethrum, derived from a specific member of the chrysanthemum family. The other is an extract of the sassafras root. The actives are combined with an emulsion system, which prevents product separation. The final additive is deionized water. Py-Tech is purposely formulated without adding inexpensive petroleum distillate fillers. There will be no oily walls or floors to contend with and no petroleum to ingest.
Our finely machined spray nozzles each emit approximately 1.1 ounce per minute at 160 p.s.i. The average customer sprays about four minutes total per day (e.g. 6 times per day at 40 seconds per application). This equates to a usage of about one gallon per nozzle per month. (e.g. A 15 nozzle system with a 30 gallon reservoir would need to be refilled every two months.)

A Pro-Tech system links a timer-controlled brass vane pump to a network of misting nozzles run through small-diameter feed tubing along the rafters and aisles of your barn. At preset intervals the pump pressurizes the line and each nozzle releases a fine mist of insecticide, knocking down flies, mosquitoes, gnats and other flying pests automatically — even when no one is in the barn. Each nozzle controls roughly 1,000 to 1,500 cubic feet of airspace, and the company recommends one misting nozzle for each approximate 12'x12' stall plus a few extra for the aisles, doorways, and grooming and wash areas.

Pro-Tech builds the system around three hardware models so the pump matches your nozzle count. The SS 35 uses a 1/4 h.p. motor with a 50-gallon-per-hour brass vane pump and 1/4" feed tubing to drive up to 25 nozzles; the SS 50 — their most popular model — steps up to a 1/3 h.p. motor and a 100-gallon-per-hour brass vane pump for up to 50 nozzles; and the SS 100 runs a 1/2 h.p. motor with a 125-gallon-per-hour brass vane pump and larger 3/8" feed tubing for up to 100 nozzles. All three carry a two-year warranty, which requires that you use only solutions sold by Pro-Tech.

It is a low-odor formula with low toxicity to mammals, made from flowers and accepted by the EPA. The lineup also includes EcoSMART Horse Fly Spray, an organic ready-to-use botanical-oil spray that kills on contact and repels stable flies, horse flies, deer flies, face flies, house flies, horn flies, mosquitoes and gnats, plus Neutra-Scent Odor Neutralizer, a non-toxic, biodegradable concentrate where a half-gallon makes up to 60 gallons and actually destroys unpleasant odors rather than masking them.
