What makes a Featherlite an all-aluminum horse trailer?
Every Featherlite horse trailer is built around an all-aluminum body that resists rust and corrosion far better than steel while weighing less, which increases payload capacity and produces a smoother tow. The newest 9000 Series trailers feature rivetless aluminum side sheets for a cleaner exterior, standard "Wave" side panels, and the proprietary Pierce & Roll roof system that uses a sealed riveting method to prevent water infiltration. Aluminum construction is the reason a Featherlite holds its resale value and stays road-ready season after season.

Why does Featherlite build trailers from aluminum instead of steel?
Aluminum has a much higher resistance to rust and corrosion than steel, so the trailer lasts longer and holds its value. It is also significantly lighter, which increases your payload capacity and makes for a smoother, more fuel-efficient tow. Featherlite's slogan, 'Their Hooves Are In Our Hands,' reflects that the aluminum body is engineered around horse safety.
What horse trailer models does Featherlite make?

What is the difference between a bumper-pull and a gooseneck Featherlite?
Bumper-pull models, such as the 9300 and 9400, attach to a hitch at the rear bumper and feature aerodynamic v-noses for easier towing with smaller vehicles. Gooseneck models, such as the 9500 and 9600, connect over the bed of a truck for enhanced stability and can carry more horses, up to six in the 9600. The right choice depends on your tow vehicle and how many horses you haul.
What are Air Flo dividers?
Air Flo dividers are stall dividers designed to move significantly more air through the horse area, keeping horses cooler and more comfortable on the road. They are now standard on Featherlite's new living-quarters models and 9000 Series trailers. Combined with Light Flo feed doors, they dramatically improve ventilation inside the trailer.
How much airflow do the Light Flo feed doors provide?
Featherlite's Light Flo feed doors are designed to allow up to 90 percent more airflow than conventional feed doors, while also letting in more natural light. The newest 9000 Series trailers use larger drop-down feed doors with squared corners for even better light and ventilation. Good airflow is a core part of Featherlite's safety-first design.
