Is Your Horse Overweight, Or at Risk for Insulin Resistance Or Cushings?
This is a very serious matter and serious action needs to be taken! If a horse is overweight or at risk for developing Laminitis or has Cushing’s disease . The Best Friend® Grazing Muzzle is an easy solution to these problems, and since Laminitis is the second-leading medical killer of horses, a grazing muzzle may just save your horse’s life!
How Does The Grazing Muzzle Work?
The grazing muzzle attaches to a halter. It has a small hole which allows for drinking and grazing. However intake can be reduced from between 70 to 86% depending on pasture and how familiar the horse is with the use of the muzzle. (they learn quickly!)
But Isn't It Cruel To Restrict Their Grazing?
Laminitis, and Founder are the 2nd biggest killer of horses. Even if they recover, many horses can not be ridden ever again. If you can PREVENT this condition, by limiting the sugars they ingest through grazing, isn't it worth it to save their life? The Grazing Muzzel may look cruel, However, horses grow accustomed to them in a short amount of time each spring and do just fine in them. Horses are allowed to be themselves in pastures without the dangers associated with over grazing.
What If I Have a Draft, Mini or Pony I Need To Fit?
Sizes are made to fit miniature horses to draft horses. Proper fit adjustment is essential to the comfort of the horse. They can be left on 24 hours a day but we recommend daily cleaning and you do need to check your horse every day to make sure of fit etc.
Where Can I Buy My Grazing Muzzle?
There are over 400 dealers just in the USA that stock the Best Friend Grazing Muzzles. Grazing Muzzles are readily available at many tack stores or online catalogs like BestFriendEquine.com, Dover Saddlery, Statelinetack. ValleyVet, SmartPakEquine, Horsetackco.com etc.
